This Dentist is a salesman but not an actual doctor
I visited doctor for the pain in my one of the molar and doctor took X-rays and pictures to find out what the root cause was. The issue was that I scraped my enamel off of one of the molars due to my night teeth grinding habits. The doctor suggested to not only have a crown done on the molar which was affected but also the one which is next to it stating that I will need it in near future anyway. I considered having one crown done because in my previous regular cleaning visit other doctor had suggested having affected molar crowned. I thought about this and came to the conclusion that I will only get affected tooth crowned on a treatment day.
I went to the doctor for the treatment with a mindset that I only want to get one of my molar crowned and he kept pushing me stating that you are already here, why not get both done at the same time and save future trouble. And it was stupid of me to get swayed by his sale pitch and not taking the second opinion. The reason why I agreed to get both crows done is because as far as what I heard the doctors are very conservative in the United States and would not recommend anything that is unnecessary or harmful to you. Much to my surprise, it turns out that this person is also really bad at the crowing teeth.
He crowned my teeth twice and still left them short(a lot), following are the details:
The first crowns he did were hurting both of my teeth and he suggested to redo the crowns to fix the pain after 4-5 weeks. The reason why they were hurting is because he didn’t have enough crown material(zirconia). In other words, crowns were not properly measured. Now bear in mind that the replacing crown is a very intense procedure as the material(Zirconia) is harder than enamel and it's not quite easy to take the crowns off. Also, it takes about 3 weeks for this doctor to get new crowns.
In the second attempt, he got the crowns shorter(a lot) than my original teeth leaving a large space between my upper and lower molars.
This is when I got extremely frustrated and asked for the money back and he only gave me a partial amount and reverted my claims for insurance which was a hassle because I couldn't go to other doctors right away to get my molars fixed until insurance reverts the claim.
I got my crowns redone by the other doctor and the process was way better.
Treatment review:
He was rushing to put the crowns on without even checking proper occlusion prior to permanently gluing them on. He has an assistant doctor who is very very inexperienced. He is not gentle while treatment. Nowadays, doctors have advance technologies where they can make crown the same day and the measurements are extremely accurate.
Overall, the doctor is very inexperienced and pushy for the sake of getting more things done from the customers, I wouldn't recommend this doctor to anyone for any kind of dental work. you will be better off going to anywhere else but to this doctor. I may not be able to trust doctors anymore or overcome this...

Pacific Sky Dental: Back to 5 Stars, Thanks to Candy and Jason
I had a previous 1-star experience at Pacific Sky Dental, but I'm happy to report that they've turned things around in a big way. Candy (thank the stars she is still around) called me to clear the misunderstanding with a trainee and personally ensure that my next experience would be a positive one.
I'm so glad she did! My wife and I both had excellent appointments recently. Our dental hygienist, Jason, was experienced, gentle, and communicative. He took over an hour to thoroughly clean our teeth, and he didn't skimp on anything.
Our dentist was also professional and gave us helpful recommendations.
Overall, it felt like the old days at Pacific Sky Dental, where we felt valued and left the office with a good feeling.
Thank you, Candy, Jason, and Pacific Sky Dental! I look forward to working with you in the future.
Previous 1 star review:
I used to be a loyal customer of Pacific Sky Dental, but I am very disappointed with the service I received recently.
My favorite dentists and dental hygienists, Dr. Alagh and Julia, have left the practice. The replacements are friendly, but they are inexperienced. On one visit, it took 4 tries to get dental X-rays, which are harmful, but the staff couldn't figure it out.
The prices have increased, but the customer support has gotten worse. Candy used to be amazing and very accommodating. We had signed up for the annual plan that includes 2 free cleanings. We made the first cleaning, but due to COVID and travel, we could not make the second cleaning in time. Instead of accommodating us, Pacific Sky Dental is not willing to honor the pre-paid subscription and wants us to pay for the second cleaning.
I am very disappointed with the decline in the quality of service at Pacific Sky Dental. I no longer recommend them and will be trying...
Read moreWorst dental experience I have ever had! The only thing they care about is the money, I wish I could give a 0 star. I have never left a negative comment like this. But if you are looking at this comment, try to avoid them by all means!
I called the office to ask about putting back a crown that has recently fallen from my implants. They told me to come to the office. Since I am pregnant, I refused to take an X-Ray. However, without my consent of the purpose and price, they took pictures of my teeth, which later they wanted to charge money for. Then Dr Kode looked at my teeth and told me there is nothing she can do. She can not even tell the brand of the implant. (I went to another dental practice later and the doctor easily tell it is a Straumann brand.) Dr Kode asked me to come back again tomorrow.
The next day I went there again, Dr Jone told me he can put the fallen crown back. But that is not covered by insurance, I can either pay cash or use Orthodontics benefits (which later I found out is much higher price than it should be). Without telling me that anesthesia will be used in the treatment and the nurse directly put some tropical anesthesia on my teeth. Dr Jone was trying to inject more anesthesia into the teeth. I quickly refused and was angry because I was in my first trimester of pregnancy and don’t want to use any medication, especially without my consent!
Later they billed me oral exam, oral photograph, oral consultation, palliative treatment of dental pain (I felt no pain at all!). I received nothing but the fear to use anesthesia and a waste of time (two mornings)! They kept harassing me because the insurance company has denied their claims!
I have disputed the claims and will further report to the California Dental Association if they keep harassing me for services I did not consent to...
