Place has a lot of stuff and more well stocked than the usual dollar stores. They even have produce and various dry food along with regular household stuff like basic tools ,kitchen utensils, laundry, shampoo, holiday decor. Plus they have international food,. and random stuff you never see at the usual dollar places. I should have remembered to look for horchata, a drink thats pretty good and i bet they have it. The people working there were nice. The only thing I have to criticize them for is they have no parking. I'd love to buy more stuff there and bring my mom but it's too hard with carrying bags and too far or uphill. Because of this they should get an online presence and let ppl do park in front for pick up orders but since it doesn't appear to be a big corporate chain of stores I doubt that will happen. I'd much rather give money to the mom and pop place. Likely building is too old to build parking above. Anyway I hate to rant about this issue but they are losing money because of it. My demographic spends tons at places like this. I still remember as a kid when it was Matthew's stereo appliances electronics at top of the hill daly city. Hope I can stop there again. Oh and it did not give me a shady unsafe feeling, more like families, students, some middle aged ppl like me. It's funny because I passed this place to check out the $ store on mission further down the road but saw this place and uturned at flournoy to check it out. Glad I did. Thanks for being a mom and pop store with unusual stuff. The other big chain places lately have been low on items ,ppl blatantly stealing, kids running unsupervised and the one on el camino in SSF smells weird. This place while packed to the gills with goodies is better maintained and is not out of everything. Please get some kind of parking, it doesn't make sense to use Uber and lose the savings of...

It's always extra $0.50 to a dollar or so added - not enough to go back and make huge fuss, but very annoying. In my case today, she verbally said the total is $5.00; afterwards, I look at the receipt and she had actually charged my card $5.50; the itemized receipt shows she added some "food" item that I never bought. (Sometimes they don't even give you the itemized receipt.) Unlike other stores, when you pay they physically take your card behind the counter and enter whatever amount they want back there; you don't get to press the "Is $X.XX amount ok?", they will press it for you, so you don't get to see exactly what they're charging, until you look at the receipt.
They're betting on the fact that most people wouldn't notice and if they do, its not enough to fight over; and for the few people who do speak up, they will pretend it's a little accident. 4 out of 5 times I have been here, this has happened; each time with a different cashier; it is definitely a deliberate business practice.
Other ways they rip you off is by overcharging, especially on the produce (half of which is rotten anyway). Don't believe what the price sign says, and always estimate the total bill BEFORE you head to checkout and then check your...
Read moreI enjoyed shopping this store. It had some different things that I haven't seen in most dollar stores. There are different designs and materials for cups and dinner ware. The glass tumblers had new molded patterns that I haven't seen before. There are thick, clear glass plates for $1.50, a great deal! I saw some new designs for AA battery flashlights. Watch out for defective ones. I had to test 7 of them to find 3 that worked. The bulbs are not LED so the batteries last only a short amount of time. When will dollar stores start selling alkaline batteries that last longer than carbon-zinc? This store has something new for dollar stores. There is a small section of fresh fruit and vegetables. The arts and crafts supplies section is good. Lots of variety including styrofoam base shapes and cork. There is also heavy plastic table cloth material in different patterns that is 4 ft. wide. It comes on a big roll that is sold by the foot. The hardware section is small and limited. Lots of screws and nails, but no tools. Maybe just as well as dollar store tools are poorly made and easily break. Their screwdrivers and drill bits are worthless. I did enjoy the variety of unique items and that everything is just $1.50! Store is open Monday to Saturday until 7pm. Sunday...
