Awesome working fish market. The men working behind the counter and in the work area in the back, were true fish mongers. The fish and shellfish were clearly straight out of a boat on ice. Everything looked so fresh it was hard to choose. We purchased softshell lobster (which they graciously steamed for us because we were camping), salmon patties which were incredible (best I've ever had, the seasoning and added ingredients were soooo good) and haddock. Everything was so delicious and fresh tasting. I've never had softshell lobster, soooooo buttery and sweet. The haddock was flaky and really yummy as well. The guys that work there are so nice. They were out of salmon patties so they told us they would make some fresh for us!! They suggested we go enjoy shopping a bit and they'd have the lobster and salmon patties ready to go. The pricing was very very reasonable as well. I am so happy I found this place. Everywhere up and down the Eastern seaboard we travel, we're always looking for great fish markets. I'd put this one (and a place in Murrells Inlet) at the top of my list. If you are in the Damariscotta/Boothbay area I highly recommend you stop by.

I am beyond happy that I have such a fantastic seafood market nearby! The fact that it is family owned, where you actually SEE the owners working the business and along with the daughters is adorable! And the quality is super fresh (I'm hooked on the fresh tuna and scallops for sushi and ceviche (tuna poke and crab Louie salad pictured); the crab is fantastic, as is the fresh salmon and in-house smoked salmon...I could go on and on!

THE fish market to learn about and buy an array of local oysters, fish and scallops. Thoroughly enjoyed shopping at Simmons!

This has to be my favorite seafood shop of all time. The shop is cozy, clean, and has a wonderful selection of fresh, local seafood, as well as the occasional delicacy of king crab legs (when in season). The best part of it all, though, is the people who own and run it. My experience there is I'm always met with friendly smiles and greetings, and they're very willing to cut a piece of fish exactly to my request. Their frozen lobster mac 'n cheese is hands-down the best I've ever had, and the frozen stuffed clams are delicious! If you're ever in or near Damariscotta and crave some fresh seafood to take home, this shop needs to be on your...

Just used this outfit for the first time. Certainly won’t be my last. I’m already looking forward to ordering more lobster and scallops to South Texas. My buddy recommended them and I’m glad he did. They didn’t mess around at all. In a world where customer service is dying, these folks restored some faith. They personally reached out to me with all sorts of updates and kept track of the shipping and checked on the product shortly after it arrived. I’m blown away. Thanks a bunch, Simmons Family. ~Your new found friend and follower from South...
