Saint David Catholic Church — Local services in Davie

A very dear friend of mine used to love this church and all it had to offer. He is not Catholic, but he loved the service & the beauty of the building. His son, daughter-in-law and grandson are members of this church. My friend is a very good person who cares about the disadvantaged and the underprivileged. He has attended this church on and off for many years now. Recently he decided to take a young man under his wing and mentor him. My friend, encouraged this young man to attend college and assisted him in any way he could in that endeavor. He also encouraged this young man to attend worship services with him at this particular Catholic church. Isn't that the right thing to do? Well today at the 11:15 mass while my friend and the young man were sitting in services, Davie police entered the building and went to where they sat and asked them to come out of the building with them. My friend was asked to empty his pockets, was frisked, finger printed, and pics were taken of himself and of his vehicle. Apparently, the priest doing the services decided that it looked odd for an older gentleman to be in his church with a younger man who was obviously not his son, and he called the police. The young man is in college is 18 and is almost 19 in a couple of days. There was nothing that was suspicious except that this particular priest decided that to compensate for the atrocities the Catholic church has perpetrated on many of its youth members, he would jump to a horrible conclusion about someone in his congregation and allow that person to be subjected to such indecency. My friend was dumbfounded and floored. Not to mention the embarrassment and humiliation this brought upon him. Then when the police officers realized there was nothing that they needed to be around for, there was NO apology or anything from them or said priest. LOOK WHAT WE'VE BECOME! SHAME, SHAME, SHAME, SHAME ON YOU MR I'M GOD'S SERVANT PRIEST! YOU ARE not...

I went to this school for total of 12 years (pre k3 to 8th grade graduation) and i felt like sharing it for anyone planning to send their children. I have to say the elementary was perfectly fine when i went but not sure how it changed because it was back in 2012-2015. I DO NOT RECOMMEND THE MIDDLE SCHOOL! Terrible teachers, they were lazy and picked favorites and if you weren’t the favorite, you’ll be targeted for everything. They also decided to put so many new rules that were unreasonable. This school will not prepare you for high school. Only high school prep they give and talking about how high school will affect us if we act bad. Barely any help for anything and terrible way they treated the actual good teachers. Please reconsider coming to this school. If you think that putting a whole bunch of elementary kids with middle school kids is a good idea, try rethinking. Mind you, the rules for elementary kids also implies to the middle school kids. The church is very beautiful but the school is a whole different situation. I was a student there for a year and it was the worst experience my life i had to leave. They would have a lot of teachers come and go and it was hard to keep up. we had 3 math teachers and at the end of the year, and religion teacher left and we had a sub for about a month. We had 10 subjects and i always left books in class. I don't recommend this school to anyone, they make public school seem like its for "lower class kids" and thats not right; making it seem like people at that school are better than anyone else. Do the best thing you can do and send your child to a different Catholic school, bet there is way better...
