I have been coming to Tijuana Taxi for 20+ years with my family because of the service and food. My family and friends love the place so much that we usually dine at the restaurant 1-2 times per week. Over the course of the past year there have been numerous price changes much like other establishments. I am perfectly okay with price changes that are within reason. I do have a problem however when any restaurant in general tries to nickel and dime you.
Before mentioning what happened this evening, I will fill in some gaps by informing everyone that they have tried to charge me/family/friends for extra sauce for certain dishes that didn’t have enough sauce to begin with (silly). They have also tried to charge for chips and salsa stating that 1 basket is sufficient for 5-6 people (sillly again). It’s their establishment, so who am I to tell them how to run their restaurant.
Tonight unfortunately was the kicker….. I as an adult can adjust to the nonsense however, when it affects my kids, we have a problem. My daughter wanted a cheese quesadilla with french fries (on kids menu). I have ordered this dish for my daughter (for years). Each kids meal is the same price and brings french fries with the exception of the cheese quesadilla (go figure). I have never had a problem until tonight when I was told that there would be an up charge to change rice and beans to French Fries. The first manager (clearly new to the job young man with glasses) got a little fresh when I asked to please speak with a different manager. The second manager explained the policy respectfully. I in-turn respectfully understood his explanation (company policy) and left the establishment to eat at another restaurant with my family. The interaction and experience left a poor taste in my mouth and for that, I will never dine at that establishment again.
Big Picture …. A lifelong customer was lost over a $1 in addition to managers that forgot a basic rule related to business, “a happy customer will always be a returning customer”.
My 5 year old daughter had her french fries elsewhere...
Read moreThere’s nothing wrong with this place except the manager Kelly she’s scared to give you a straight answer. I went into the place last Friday at 1pm Brooke a darling waitress took care of us. I order a chicken chimichanga the thing was full of rice not a single piece of chicken. I brought it to Brooke’s attention she immediately brought me chicken from the kitchen. My friend ordered fish tacos. When we got to the car I felt as if I was about excited explode to experience life got food poisoning. Spoke to Kelly she wasn’t eager to give me the customer service that should be given. You guys probably goes to the bathroom and don’t wash your hands that’s what’s happening and they handle your food. Me and my friend got sick. I will never eat at your place because you guys are dirty I can only imagine your kitchen. I’m going to report you to the consumer service so they can come and check you guys out. Kelly should have a clue as to handle this situation. I know for a fact that this has happened before but people don’t speak up that’s why it continues happening. I have character and personality and there’s a right and wrong way to handle these situation. Kelly was only worried about the finances of her bosses as if they give a rats ass about her the day she gets out of line they will fire her like a dog. Well you guys lost a client and I will spread the word. By the way Brooke is an excellent by far a...
Read moreGood food, nice servers, HORRIBLE management. Went for dinner this evening. Ordered our meals and menus were promptly picked up from the table. Chips & salsa come with the meals. Did not know that there was a fee for ordering more chips. Asked for a chip refill while waiting for our food. Was NEVER told about a fee and menus had long been removed from the table to check- most restaurants give chip refills for free. Bill came and noticed $3 charge for chips. Asked the waitress who said she would speak with the manager. Moments later waitress came back apologizing with a menu in her hand to show us that it is posted in the menu. Clearly she felt bad because she didn’t tell us there was a charge when we asked for more chips. When my husband spoke with the manager, she could care less and refused to take off the charge. It’s $3- not a big deal, but totally missing out on the principal. Should have taken the $3 off the bill this time with a reminder that there is a charge for chips going forward. But instead, she chose to upset a customer and potentially lose his business in the future. Not the brightest move and a fail in the area of good customer service. Honestly, is it worth it to to lose...
