Take 5 Oil Change — Local services in Decatur

Do not take your vehicle to this Take 5, unless you want them to screw it up. My $84.99 oil change ended up costing me $291.11. I took my vehicle in for an oil change, and of course, also "needed a new engine air filter". Brandon and Zac worked on my vehicle. Zac was unable to unscrew the screws to check the cabin air filter and was told it's probably alright. After leaving there, my car started rocking and acting up whenever I stopped and was idling. I took it to South Shores Auto Service to diagnose what was going on. When they informed me what was causing the issue, I called Take 5, to see if they would cover the cost of repairs or refund the oil change. I was told that the Manager (Cade) had just left and would have him call me back. I waited and never received a call back. I had South Shores Auto do the repairs, so I wasn't without a vehicle. When I was finally able to speak with Cade. He told me there was nothing he could do because I took it somewhere else for the repairs. I will never return to this location. The Manager was rude and offered no help in rectifying the situation. When I asked for a district manager or corporate number. Cade told me he was not allowed to give out the number. I called the Location on Mt.zion rd, and they were able to give me a number for customer service. I have since learned from a coworker that they had similar issues at this location, where their oil change was not done properly, and had to have repairs on...

I have gone to a few different ones, but the service at the one on Water St I went to the other day was exceptional. Stanley took the time to explain everything to me and didn't just skip things because I was a returning customer. They clearly utilized their company policies and verified twice by separate techs that everything was in correct place, properly tightened, and nothing they use was left under the hood to cause a serious problem. He was also sure to point out the free gift card attached and gave one for my fiance too since she was with me and was her car. Also made sure we knew the coupon off out next oil change was there so we didn't accidentally throw it out if we didn't keep the receipt. You could go there and know absolutely nothing about a car, or an oil change and leave knowing that it was done properly because they will make sure to explain anything you don't know, exactly what they did, and you get free bottled water every visit as well as your tires checked and the guarantee of getting topped off if your vehicle Burns oil before your next oil changes due. Definitely worth going because it's the one place you don't have to have appointment, and don't have to wait weeks to get in. The whole process is less than 20 minutes and that's if you take the time to ask a bunch of questions...

It took a bit of time. I'd say I was there a good hour. But, I don't blame them as it's hard to get people that want to work these days and they were short staffed as people called in. I must say that I have never seen a woman work in this field. I so loved that when I arrived two women were the only ones there. A gentleman arrived later but his part was only to put the oil in and accept payment. Pleasant young man indeed. I enjoyed him. Treated me with respect which is rare these days. Overall I will give this place a 5☆, unless I have any further issues arrive then to me this IS the place to go. I've gone to the same place for many years and decided to change things up. I hate having to make an appt. Where as the other place it was required. I can't always know just when I can do things. Price was much better than the other place AND I loved that being IN the car I can literally watch them putting the oil in. No, I truly don't know when they say 5.4 that they are in fact putting that In but I do see the clean oil going in. I do question just how much oil they need as it was slightly over the 5 they listed for a certain price and could always say it's more to chare $8.95 for the extra gallon.
