
The reviews are incentivised, FYI. I went to get my child's hair trimmed, just a basic cut to remove damaged ends. I appreciated that it was just a basic cut with no push to do anything else.
However, I did not appreciate the odd comments about previous things I have done with my child's hair. It was only mentioned to help explain the condition of the hair. It might have seemed innocent enough to make remarks and "joke" about it, but it sure made me feel awful, and hopefully my child did not pick up on the rude comments.
I did buy a packet of Malibu C conditioner to help the hair condition situation, and that was greatly appreciated to be able to buy it locally. I do also really like the selection of products for sale as well!
But, I don't think I will be going back due to how I felt after the whole of the interaction. So yes, this might be a "me" problem, but I just want others to know in case that matters when picking a hair salon/stylist. Oh, and knowing that reviews are incentivised makes me view reviews differently as well, so just keep that in mind. Read moreCalled on a Friday afternoon and got an appointment for 3pm, an hour before they close. I requested a shampoo, trim, and brow waxing. Person on the phone was very friendly and helpful, and the overall cleanliness and look of the salon was good. However, when I got my stylist the vibe was off. They were not very friendly or made any attempt to make small talk and it was somewhat awkward for me. They shampooed my hair then began my trim. They informed me that they were unable to dry my hair because they were going to close soon, which was pretty weird. After my trim, I could tell the hair was uneven, but I was pretty uncomfortable at this point and decided not to say anything. I proceeded to pay full price for a service that was half done, and there was no mention of the brow waxing I booked. Also I was back in my car 3:45, so I could have definetly had time to get my hair dried. When I got home, I had to trim chunks of my hair that were almost an inch longer than other parts. Half a trim and no blow dry was not worth $40.... overall "service" took 15...
Read moreSam the receptionist was very rude. I called to schedule an appointment, & once the phone answered I heard the background noise followed by the sound of a corded phone hanging up. Assuming this was in error, I called back, this time someone answered saying, "this is Sam...How can I help?" I was thrown off by her unorthodox way with words, (considering i've made appointments there in the past and they greet with the company's name & location) so, I had to ask, "uh... this is the number for genesis right?" Seemingly inconvenienced by my question, she responded with little enthusiasm nor energy. Just a slow lazy tone replying "yes...it is. what can I do for you?" I hung up. She made me feel awkward though moreso PISSED off. Given her passive-aggressive attitude, I believe it's safe to say, she hung up on purpose the first time I tried calling. Her unforgiving tone carried by a lazy greeting was very fitting. Maybe she needs to acquire people skills or have better training. Treat people with kindness....
