The staff at this location are racist and rude and do not treat customers with respect. I am a white woman and stopped in the store with my friend, who is black. After being harassed when we initially walked in, we shopped around for about half an hour before making our way to the checkout. We each had coupons to use ($10 off $50 or $20 off $100, so 2 separate barcodes on the screen) and I checked out first, encountering 0 issues with my checkout process. When my friend went to checkout with the same cashier, and the same exact coupon, the cashier scanned her phone and when it did not initially work, immediately went to blaming my friend and questioned whether her coupon was valid. She read over the terms of the coupon, and when she saw nothing that would prohibit the coupon from working, she then asked my friend to check if there were exclusions on her items, which there were not. Now that multiple people had ensured the coupon should work, instead of just trying again or typing in the code, she immediately called for a manager, because she automatically assumed my friend would be upset and throw a fit over the coupon. I had to step in and ask her to try scanning the coupon again because she had probably scanned the wrong barcode. The coupon immediately worked and the cashier still refused to take accountability for her assumptions or actions, blaming anything but herself. This is not the first time this location has treated my friend or other black people disrespectfully, as seen in other reviews. Definitely best to avoid this location if you appreciate being treated like a human being. Changing management repeatedly will not solve any issues if Ulta keeps hiring racist people in...
Read moreThis store is continually showing their lack for human decency towards all guest but specifically their black ones. I thought this time would be different as the associate Lupe was very respectful and helpful! This review is no reflection of her or her amazing assistance. I’ve faced multiple micro aggressions from multiple workers at this location. This time the staff was all to happy to accuse and belittle me at checkout. After a coupon wasn’t working I was immediately blamed as if I had caused the issue which I understood was a small inconvenience. I was more than happy to be patient and work with the associate to get it resolved. Instead I waited while the associate began to read over the exclusions. After her confirming she saw none of my items listed she then asked me what the coupon said….as if I was working or had anything to do with the establishment. After I confirmed I saw nothing and she again confirmed my items were not on the exclusion list. She felt no need to communicate with me and immediately called the manager. You could tell in her mannerisms and tone “the angry black woman” assumption was already in place. Even with the understanding and lack of any concern shown on my end. My WHITE friend suggested just trying to scan the coupon again as it was done once and immediately was rejected. After the the second scan it worked perfectly and the associate rushed through the sale, still waiting for the anger on my end. Fortunately for the cashier, the only emotions my visits to this Ulta stir are disgust and...
Read morewent in to ulta the other day, terrible. ABSOLUTELY HORRID. management is full of a bunch of miserable and rude people who seem to hate their job and lives entirely. the experience I had at ulta the other day that is the reason for this review went as follow. I was at ulta the other day with my friend (both people of color) just looking around. when we first walked in my friend stayed towards the front to talk with an employee momentarily, and I made a b'line for the back to smell some of the colognes looking for a gift. I carry a large bag with me DAILY, a typical tote bag, and I have brought it into ulta with me many of times before this. while walking to smell the colognes I dropped my phone into my bag to make both hands free and available to smell. I walked by a staff member in a white lab coat??? ok. and I believe she made an assumption of me and accused me of stealing from the store, because after dropping MY PHONE into my bag I was followed around the store, and bombarded my staff every so often. so to say the least, me and my friend felt racially profiled. do not waste your time at this establishment when there is a Sallys beauty 20 feet away, and Sephora just another few feet away. save yourself the time,...
