My mom and I have been giving this salon our business with a standing appointment every three weeks for a nexgen and acrylic manicure + regular pedicure. she warned me from the beginning that the owners didn’t seem to be receptive to any feedback whatsoever, but i always try to see the good in people so i defended them and gave them the benefit of the doubt.
i had been getting a great job done by one of the techs who left recently (i wonder why), so i was switched over to the owner. when i had my fill done yesterday i informed the owner that i had a crack on the side of my thumbnail, but she was positive that i was imagining it. today after seeing my nails in the sun it became quite obvious that i wasn’t. so i went into the salon and kindly asked for her to correct it. that didn’t seem to be a problem until i mentioned that my nails were alot thicker than i am used to, at which point she flat out told me that she is “not going to make them any thinner.” supposedly the acrylic weakens after a couple fills so it has to be thicker to not break… which is quite literally the opposite of what the tech who i normally went to (and never had a problem with) told me. when i responded to the owner that i never had a problem with the tech making them thinner (as if i should have to justify anyways??) she coldly retorted that i should “go find another [tech’s name] somewhere else to do your nails.” i had no response for that except that i would be following her advice and not coming back.
i mean… aren’t you supposed to stand by the work that the people you hired do, especially when it’s good? i don’t understand the defensiveness. anyways, even if you weren’t getting the good money that my mom and i pay all the time, it’s being a decent human to listen to someone else’s concerns and want to alleviate them. i will not return to a place where i am treated by another human in such a callous way.
i will probably get a response from the owners that will gaslight what i just said but still putting this out there for anyone who wants...

I used to come to this salon a lot but the nail tech I absolutely adored left about a year and a half ago. Since then, I've been put with a lot of techs that work here and they are all absolutely terrible.
I don't know how this place has almost four stars.
The communication is terrible, the manager is rude, and I have left this salon with destroyed nails on several occasions and with different nail techs each time!
When I got my nexgen removed, a male tech seemingly got frustrated by waiting for the remover to soak in and just decided to shave off a few layers of my actual nails with a filing machine (this was my first and only time doing nexgen so I did not know any better. This left my nails brittle and thin when I typically have healthy and strong nails. This was months ago and I am still recovering from it.
They also chopped my perfectly long nails off a separate time without asking and did a hack job of filing them. All were uneven in length and shape and I had to do them myself when I got home. Not only that, but they were all jagged and would catch on any fabric or material I touched.
Got gel nails done here, lasted THREE DAYS!
On another occasion, my cuticles on ALL MY FINGERS were massacred and were bleeding and scabbed for a month. I was in a lot of pain and was afraid of infection.
I have given this place and their techs way too many opportunities to redeem themselves by trying different nail techs but save yourself the time, effort, money, and pain.
Please heed my warning: It's not worth it.
If this isn't enough to deter you from going here, then just read the owner's responses to the other complaints on the reviews. That alone should show you the level of professionalism you can look forward to on your visit here.

Read moreNice salon, not so nice manager! I tried Ultimate Nails for NexGen. I was very clear that my nails were extremely thin and sensitive. I requested that she be very gentle with the removal, but instead she deliberately pushed down hard on the end of my nail! I asked for a thin NexGen application, even surface and angled (soft coffin) shape. Her application & buffing was very uneven and when I pointed to the obvious flaws, she actually said "there's nothing that I can do now." She seemed annoyed with me which I found to be completely unprofessional and downright rude!! When I repeatedly expressed that a couple of my nails (length) were uneven, she had the audacity to tell me that they would grind down by the time I came back. The other technicians may be good so make sure you avoid the lady with the small dog! This place is average at best. With so many options, take your money...
