AUM Computers — Local services in Delray Beach

These guys are great. Very honest and affordable. My computer was completely destroyed physically, wouldn't even turn on, and all I wanted was to extract my files from it. I called a dozen places and due to my computer only having a SSD drive, places were quoting me 500-1200 to backup my files. I had almost given up, but decided to call these guys up as they were recommended by a friend. I brought it in and told them I don't care about repairing my computer and just wanted my files. They called me 2 days later and explained that they actually got my computer turned on, which is in itself a miracle since the thing was cracked and busted all over. They told me they would just charge me $40 for the repair and additional $50 to back it up, or I could just back it up myself and save the $50. I really appreciate they're honesty in saying that and picked it up the next day so I could back it up myself. I am actually typing this review on that computer right now. Not at all pleased. Never once met a completion date they gave me, extremely poor communication on status of order, recovered files, but then copied them in an unreadable format and I had to take the drive back to have them re-done. Obviously, they didn't even check the drive before they returned to me. Completely unacceptable for a hard disk recovery to take multiple months when all the work was in-house. Finally have my files, but even with a discount, was not compensated for my inconvenience.

8/22/18 - Additional information in response to AUM: The drives were NOT formatted for MAC, ever. I have not owned a Mac since 1990. These were Windows formatted at all times. In addition, AUM promised to deliver the completed drives to me on Saturday, but I had to call Monday morning and come get them. There is no customer service...

I recently had a terrible experience with a custom gaming PC that someone built for me. The machine wouldn’t turn on at all, which was extremely frustrating. However, I was able to bring it to the repair shop and they were able to fix it no problem.

Not only did they fix the issues that I was having, but they did it for a very reasonable price. I was really impressed with the level of expertise and professionalism that the technicians at the shop displayed. They really knew their stuff and were able to quickly diagnose and fix the problems that my PC was experiencing.

Overall, I was extremely satisfied with the service that I received. They were able to turn a frustrating and stressful situation into a much more positive experience, and I would highly recommend them to anyone in need of computer...
