I rarely ever write negative reviews but I felt like this needed to be done. We have eaten here once before and the food was delicious but some thing changed. I was expecting great things but was very disappointed. The portion sizes are acceptable for the price but the food quality was so poor.
We got the sesame chicken which was good. The best part of the meal. We also ordered shrimp lo mein. Also acceptable. Everything goes downhill from there. We got pork fried rice which had no flavor in it at all. I usually don't go back to a place if their pork fried rice isn't good, so I fully expected to enjoy it since we had it before, but it was very bland. We also bought crab rangoon. These were pitiful. There were maybe 2 of the 8 that actually had a scoop of filling in the center. The rest had a very thin layer spread over the inside of the wonton. Worst experience anywhere with crab rangoon. They were definitely better last time. Also we got the shrimp dim sum. The smell and texture was of tunafish. If I ordered tuna I would be fine with that, but the fact that these were shrimp worried me. We ended up throwing the away because we didn't trust it.
I rarely do this but the change from our first visit to second was so vastly different that we had to say something. If they changed their recipes or procedures then they need to go back to what they did before. I hope it improves for the sake of their business but we will not be returning sadly. I will need to find a new place...
Read moreProb really a 3.5, but I would rather round up.
Shanghai is the closest Chinese restaurant to me in Delray Beach. The workers are efficient, and communicative about how long your wait time will be. The food is goods, and I would recommend anyone in the West Delray area to go to Shanghai. Just be careful of the customers who have decided during Covid to police the line in Shanghai.
For example, a few months ago, I enetered Shanghhai (the restaurant, not the city). I saw there was a long line. I had ordered ahead and walked up to the front counter to see if my food was ready, or at the very least announce my presence for when it was ready to hand over to me. It was not ready, so I started heading to the back of the line.
While heading back to the end of the line, a man raised his voice and said to me "The back of the line is way behind me, buddy". I was taken aback and asked him where were the signs from management that stated that rule and the others, for which I needed to comply. He grumbled. I then told him all I wanted to do was announce my arrival, since I had (been smart enough) to order ahead, and then head to the end of the line. He said, "doesnt matter, get back to the end of the line". At that point, they called my name and I picked up my order. So just be a little casraeful as you enter for people like him.

Read moreI wish I could post 0 stars, but it doesn't let me! This is the absolute WORST place possible. Just ordered food for my entire team at work and it came to $88.55. They didn't want to deliver to us when we've ordered from them numerous times, so we went to pick it up. Obviously with so many orders, we picked it up and went right back. We ordered lunch meals for 12 people; we were missing 2 of the meals and 1 of the others was wrong. We called up to complain and the man of the phone starts yelling and calling us liars saying we didn't order that. On top of that, we tried to add up all the meals and what we added up for everything (including the missing and incorrect meals) it came to almost $30 cheaper; no explanation for that. They don't have itemized copies so we can't verify against it and we're being accused of lying and not even ordering the missing stuff. Our store is right around the corner and order for the entire store all the time; now that I know we're being ripped off and not even being accommodated for our missing meals, they can kiss our future...
