Mothers & Daughters Gift Shoppe — Local services in Denham Springs

Rant - Went shopping today with my MIL and 11 month old in his stroller at Mothers and Daughters and the Antique Village in Denham Springs. My baby needed a diaper change - the owner stated that I would have to go out and down the street to City Hall in order to use the restroom - no big deal. The real kicker is that was whenever I wanted to try on the garment and the owner was very adamant about leaving him in his stroller outside the door while I try on the shirt and she would watch him???? I kindly said no thank you and that he would be fine with me. She asked again and said I would have more room. Again, I said “No thank you”. I walked back into the store and as my MIL was checking out she had set our other bag of items we bought from a previous store and both of the owners proceeded to go through our bag and pull the items out without any cause or request. The last straw for me was when a group of a different race was in the store and one of the owners asked “So where did all of you come from??”. I used to love this store, but after today I would not recommend shopping here - especially if you have one of your littles...

I could not LOVE this place more!!! Mothers & Daughters Gift Shoppe is an amazing place to shop. I have so many beautiful/cute things from this shoppe, jackets, blouses, dresses, scarves, purses, and jewelry. I shop here for all birthday & holiday gifts. They have unique, special gifts for anything you need. And I always find the perfect gift. Every gift I have given from this store has always been so loved. The owner/ladies are some great, Christian ladies, they make you feel comfortable and at home as if they have known you for a lifetime. I Love this place & the owners! So glad to have a place like this to shop in...

I have frequently gone to Mothers and Daughters because of the unique items they have in their shop,as well as the sweet ladies that runs it. However, an item that was purchased as a gift was broken (manufacturer error) and was no longer carried in the shop. I can tell you that the owner Ms.Susan went above and beyond to not only find it again but re-order something she was no longer carrying and keep me informed each step of the way. There isn't many businesses that goes out of their way for the customer anymore unfortunately, but Mothers and Daughters goes...
