The Whistle Stop — Restaurant in Denham Springs

Had a severe allergic reaction to one of their sandwiches and tried to figure out why. Sister called twice after I had a reaction and they told her there were no nuts on my sandwich and third time got hung up on.

I went back up there because I am not someone that has that severe of a reaction without ingesting actual nuts and sure enough the ingredients of their pesto said there are cashews in it. Be careful going here to eat. If using real nut pesto and not doing like other modern shops there should really be a clear warning or symbol for that.

This place was GREAT all around! Immediately when you walk in, the atmosphere just makes you feel like you are sitting in a café in France. I sat near a window and it just felt like I was in a different country. The staff are super friendly and helpful as well. Just when I thought it couldn't get much better, our food came out. Their sandwiches are some of the BEST sandwiches I have ever had. I was talking with my mother, and she said that it was the first meal in a little while that she thought was worth every penny.
