I went into the store to have a ring worked on and brought along a 65 year old pendant my father had given many years ago.its the only thing my father ever passed on to me it was blessed by the Pope in Rome with a mass of people in a square when he was in the Korean war in 1952....it had beautiful patina that added a lot of character to it.. I was looking for a necklace for it and showed him the pendant and asked him what he thought of it..I NEVER asked him to do anything to it ...without a word he took it out back and it came back clean as new..i was devastated. but that's not the worst of it I went back a couple weeks later to pick up my ring and said how disappointed I was ..it was hard to express myself.. I was very emotional on the verge of tears.. He kept asking what I wanted....I was hoping for an apology but did'nt say so...he asked if I wanted the ring done for free..I did'nt respond..he then threw his arms up and said "I FUC%KED UP OK" what do you want ? I am in a wheelchair and turned to go outside. He followed me saying "What do you fuc%ing want me to do"..I left in tears. I never got an apology or compensation. He talks about how long he has had the business and in the community has a good reputation..but 3 of his last 4 reviews are all 1 star ..terrible reviews in the last 6 months..that says more than I can I went there because of his reputation..I should've read his recent reviews.. I have'nt looked at my fathers pendant since I left..I am heartbroken..... UPDATE The stone that he fixed on my ring fell off at my friends wedding..I didnt notice it until someone came to the mic and asked who lost a Green stone.. so now I am out $100..my "Patina" on the pendant AND the ring wasnt fixed right because this was the 1st time I wore...
Read moreI am singing the praises of LAM Goldsmiths! Len and his assistant Trish are always helpful, professional and will work with you to design your dream piece of jewelry. My mom passed leaving behind some lovely pieces with assorted stones. We worked together to settle on a design using multiple stones in a beautifully delicate white gold ring setting that includes leaves intertwined with the stones. (I am a gardener). Did it take an extended time period? Yes, but it was so worth waiting for, as you wouldn't see a ring like it anywhere! SO many compliments already...
When the initial design wasn't at all what I had tried to explain, they went back to the CAD drawing board, no questions. Their patience with me through the process was very kind. They understand the sentiment behind these heirloom pieces that are left, but sorely need updating! I LOVE, LOVE, LOVE my gorgeous ring and encourage anyone needing jewelry services of any kind, to stop in to see Len. You will be so pleased you did. Thank you Len, I will be seeing you soon for more work! ...
Read moreI took my 40+ year old engagement ring in to LAM Jewelry after hearing the highest possible recommendations in Dennis and surrounding towns. It was worn on the gold band to a thin shred. Len also advised replacing the prongs on the diamond. The band needed to be totally replace, could not be repaired with its thinness. All told the 18K gold band and new prongs were a bit expensive, but reasonable given cost of gold. The ring looked brand new when I got it back. I would absolutely trust LAM Jewelers with my other precious jewelry in the future! So great to have this...
