My experience with this company left me feeling frustrated. I approached them to sell three McIntosh pieces and clean/refurb two McIntosh amps. With the sale, I trusted Aural to provide a fair market price. I may have been nieve, but after they returned the amps with new glass plates but without cleaning, conditioning/repairing, I began to doubt their integrity. I would not have known that they did not recap or recondition the amps except that they failed to even clean the exteriors. They had me take the amps to another garage based shop to complete the job. This owner expressed his professional opinion however it seemed to change after speaking with Aural, a conspiracy afoot. Aural failed to provide proper invoicing, and charged me full price, despite their malfeasance and the associated effort of driving these amps around, a chore in itself. The owner refused to take responsibility or communicate with me directly although Thomas did his best to correct the situation. I’m still not sure I received what I paid for. In short, I did not have a positive experience with Aural though I’m sure many do. They completely dropped the ball on this one. We all might learn from this, and I thank you...
Read moreThere’s always some risk involved when buying vintage audio equipment, especially when it’s sight-unseen and being shipped over 700 miles before reaching its new home….
After reading other reviews about this shop and having a couple great conversation with Jeremy about their processes my anxiety was at ease and I decided to purchase a gorgeous ‘73 Pioneer SA-9100 that had been fully recapped and serviced to keep producing sonic sound waves for another 50+ years. It arrived safe and sound in THE best packaging apparatus I’ve ever seen. Jeremy & Peter go to great lengths to make sure your equipment gets to you in the same condition as they sent it.
The sound? Well, it’s the first really nice piece of vintage gear I’ve ever had and it sounds amazing through my Cerwin Vega DX7’s and makes them sing in a way I’ve never heard before. The first thing I played was “Wish You Were Here” …my favorite album. I couldn’t keep the smile off my face nor the chills that intermittently ran up and down my body and THAT is why I love vintage gear.
I will be doing business with Aural HiFi again someday…thank you Jeremy and Peter, keep doing what you do…the vintage audio...
Read moreJeremy and Aural HiFi did an incredible job for me and if I could give more than 5 stars, I would. Jeremy is kind and incredibly knowledgable. He first spent time assessing how I could improve my audio system and then recommended equipment for me that was in-keeping with my love of mid-century design and came up with a plan that met my goals. He invited me over to the shop to test out different receivers and then helped me select the best equipment. He was present for the entire installation to guide me as to speaker placement. The installation was completely seamless. Now, my system is completely improved and sounds absolutely incredible - powerful, clear, HiFi sound. Plus, it all looks gorgeous in my home. Thank you Jeremy and Aural HiFi. So happy, I am...
