I've been a member of the Lighthouse community since our early days meeting in the Presbyterian Church, and I have been blessed to witness its growth into our beautiful current campus. Throughout all these years, this church has been more than just a building; it has been a true beacon for me personally, offering guidance, hope, and a profound sense of belonging. I have seen the hand of God move in ways that are hard to express with words, fostering a community where personal transformations are a regular occurrence. The shared history and steadfast faith I've experienced here have been a foundational part of my spiritual journey.
What truly defines Lighthouse is its unwavering commitment to its core mission. We don't claim to be a perfect church, but we are passionate about our calling to shine the light of the Gospel, make disciples of Jesus, and do it all for the glory of God, as inspired by Matthew 5:14-16. In every single gathering, regardless of who is leading worship or preaching the sermon, the name of Jesus is declared boldly and unapologetically. If you are searching for a genuine, Christ-centered community that is passionate about the Gospel and dedicated to authentic worship, I wholeheartedly recommend...
Read moreI believe the core values of this church genuinely line up with the core values of the Triune God. One of Lighthouse's slogans is "Be Known, Know Jesus" and I could not think of a better focus for a House of God. Lighthouse puts their best effort in knowing each person who walks in their door. You cannot make it to the sanctuary without being greeted by three people. Their pastors announce every Sunday after the sermon that they want to meet you and will be out in the lobby to introduce themselves to you. They offer each new guest a free t-shirt, which is pretty cool in my opinion, and they make sure that once a connection is made that person is pursued and know through their staff or their home groups. I attend Lighthouse because I learn from the way Pastor Josh digs into Scripture and teaches it to the congregation, I love the freedom of their worship, I am encouraged watching the staff minister to their people through prayer and love, and the place is real, raw, and genuine. Lighthouse wants to know people, and have them know the God who loves them more than anyone else...
Read moreI will not associate myself with a church that is so legalistic that it has put blinders on to the hate they share toward the LGBTQ+ community. After last week’s message, I was so uncomfortable with how it was sitting with me that I did not stay for worship. I will not be returning to a church that is so stripped of love for ALL God’s children. Also, just a friendly reminder, we as human beings have no place to judge or condemn another human being. In doing this, these individuals are undermining Gods true authority. I think Romans 13 explains this well. I encourage the pastor who spoke last week to study this passage more. “Let no debt remain outstanding, except the continuing debt to love one another, for whoever loves others has fulfilled the law. The commandments, “You shall not commit adultery,” “You shall not murder,” “You shall not steal,” “You shall not covet,” and whatever other command there may be, are summed up in this one command: “Love your neighbor as yourself.” Love does no harm to a neighbor. Therefore love is the fulfillment of the law.” Romans...
