I am starting to tear up writing this - Amanda was such a HUGE part of our journey - I will forever be grateful for her. We were having trouble with breastfeeding and no one could figure out why - we were doing all of the things - lactation appts, recommendations from pediatrician, fenugreek, Chinese herbs, teas, stouts, cookies, oats (LOTS of oats), acupuncture - I'm exhausted just remembering all of the things we tried. Nothing worked, and I dreaded every feed. Finally at 6 weeks we found Amanda - I called and spoke with her to make an appt, and even after just talking to her to get scheduled, I felt a huge sense of relief. She is super knowledgeable, warm, and immediately makes you feel like you're not alone and that together you will figure out the issue, whatever it is. She came to the house (appts are covered by insurance!) and immediately diagnosed a lip and tongue tie. She gave recommendations on dentists that specialize in diagnosing and doing the procedure, and gave us an entire plan of options and additional things we could try. Having the procedure done changed EVERYTHING - our baby was finally getting what she needed and I stopped getting mastitis. She was there each step along the way, and even supported me through my return to work with plans around pumping and what the transition would look like. I feel so lucky to have found Amanda - we 100% would have had to go to formula without her. Instead, we were able to stick with our plan of breastfeeding and we now have a happy and healthy 18 week old! I would recommend Amanda and the mama'hood to any and everyone - if only everyone knew about and had access to their support! A true gift.

First of all, I want to mention how cute this shop is. It’s bright and clean and the staff are always so nice. In addition to having an adorable selection of maternity clothes- seriously going in makes me want to get pregnant again just so I can shop there- they have a delightful alcove of toys my son adores. I’ve been taking my almost 2 year old son to Toddler and Momma yoga on Friday mornings for almost 6 months and we love it! I my past before baby life I went to yoga classes several times a week, but now that I have a little guy and limited childcare, I’ve had to content myself to my daily quick morning practice. Although it’s not the same as an adult class, it’s a great opportunity to introduce a little one to yoga, and as mine says, “see babies and mommies” (and sometimes daddies too). I always appreciate how Miss Casey, the instructor, sets a casual, fun mood for the class with fun songs and movement for the kids. My son likes it too, and lately has been peppering our days with his favorite snippets from class, and ever time we drive by The Mama’hood, he points and says his name, followed by mommy go yoga. Which, when you’re not quite 2, is a 5 star review for sure.

Had our first kiddo August of 2019 and went to the mamahood for all of our needs. First it was help with breast feeding for my wife, then it was early food eating classes (which have paid off btw), then to the tea shop next door among the fun mom group that my wife went to for a while. We had recommendations and counseling and everything in between, it would have been more difficult without the mamahood, that’s for sure.

As a new dad I cannot state enough that Amanda and Mama 'hood have been a game/life changer. The hospital classes didn't prepare us for anything real world. First weeks in we felt lost. Enter Amanda....aka The Baby Whisperer. She helped us navigate what was real for us and not what the hospital classes "prepared" us for. Moms have enough on their plate, so Dads, this is a must have resource for you. Make the appointment for you, mom and baby. You will not regret it. They will come to house, masks on of course, check out the environment and see how you are feeding, changing, sleeping the baby and truly listen to your anxieties.....best part, they give you an actionable game plan, that for us, has worked well after every visit! We will be having her come by for all the major 1st year milestones for check ins. This has been a game changer, and as much as the "trial by fire" adage is so true with babies, she has helped shorten our learning curve, which means more/better sleep for us, less stressful evenings, and more time to enjoy with our little one. Last note, my favorite part of having them part of our team, is she does not pass judgement how we are doing things. Yes, we bottle feed, so what! She helped us master that! No breastfeeding shaming here! They also have classes for Grandparents which they all...

My wife and I have can't speak more highly of the mama 'hood. We took the "Birthing from Within" class with Rebecca before our daughter was born and just last week received two visits from Amanda to help with breastfeeding. Coming from the perspective of the husband/partner, I am so glad we were referred to them and I expect we will use them for additional courses and parent groups in the future. Specifically for Birthing from Within, I can't recommend this course highly enough for soon-to-be parents but also specifically for the non-birthing partners. It is REALLY important that partners have the knowledge and appropriate expectations to help at every stage of pregnancy and this class helped me do that way better than any book I read. Rebecca was awesome!

I also want to give a huge shout out to Amanda, our lactation consultant (IBCLC). She came over twice in the last few weeks to help my wife with the first few weeks of breastfeeding and was incredibly helpful. My wife is a doula and is well versed with all things babies but we both learned so much. Our baby is now breastfeeding so much better than she was at the beginning. Amanda is incredibly caring and gentle but also gave us very clear steps to improving and we can't...
