I went to The Plimoth with my gf for an impromptu date night. When booking, the only reservation option was "Counter" seating, but when we arrived it was fairly empty. For apps, I had the chilean sea bass soup and she had the pork rillette. We both enjoyed them. We were off to a good start. For main dishes, I had the "gnocchi parsienne gratin" ($36) and she had the "cracklin chicken" ($46). I was a bit surprised at the prices, which, unsurprisingly, are not included on the site. I was disappointed in the gnocchi, especially at the price point. The individual gnocchi pieces were significantly larger than any I'd ever had, and it tasted more like "potato balls" than pasta. The dish was runny and had strong notes of cinnamon; the combination was strongly reminiscient of oatmeal/cereal, which made it even more off-putting. One pro is that the dish was served piping hot. The chicken dish, on the other hand, was excellent. I do regret not going with a meat dish myself. Is it worth almost $50? In my opinion, no. On a positive note, the servers were friendly and extremely attentive. Overall, I think it is a decent restaurant, but between my experience with the gnocchi and the excessive prices, I will try somewhere else before returning to The Plimoth.

Such a lovely place to dine. I’m a big fan of well thought out placement of lights in general. It makes the place inviting or worse depressing. Whoever designed this place-kudos! Nice dining area right by the bar. Although there’s a second area that seem to be the main one? That’s where we sat. A wall with divides the area. The food: Pork Oso Bucco. One big giant tender meat. The bone? I forgot about it. The meat literally just fell off the bone. Out of sight; out of mind. Bye bone! I ate and I ate and yet I still took some leftovers home! The very thoughtful staff. Ever present but unobtrusive. A very considerate gentleman who seem generally just making sure things are fine adjusted the temperature when he noticed I haven’t taken off my coat since we sat down. And then again since more ladies came in and didn’t take their coats off too. It’s a lovely place. It’s just the table by the window are drafty. I’m sure that’s an easy fix! Outside seating for summer!

My husband and I went to The Plimoth to celebrate his Birthday. The service, food, cocktails and atmosphere were all wonderful! We can’t wait to go back! Our server, Keith, was so great. He was humble and unpretentious (super refreshing for the Denver food scene:)). He was attentive, made awesome recommendations and was sincerely excited about the menu and that we liked everything we ordered. We had: -Apple Manhattan -Ontañon Reserva Tempranillo -Radicchio & Frisée Salad -Smoked Pork Chop -Cracklin’ Chicken The Manhattan was a bit sweet but a great fall drink. The wine was really nice for the price and a great pairing with the Pork Chop. Frisée salad was light and flavorful - the squash, cheese and nuts made it. The mains were both incredible - perfectly cooked, beautifully presented and totally different from each other. Unfortunately we were too full for dessert. We’ll definitely be back and hope we make it in time to try the pumpkin bread pudding.

We had a reservation and were promptly seated, which was great.

After sitting down, we had to wait a bit for our server to come by and take our drink orders. She was incredibly apologetic and said that they got caught up in the dinner rush. Absolutely no problem with that. Things happen.

We enjoyed our drinks and eventually put our food orders in for a few appetizers and an entree to split. The first appetizer (a raw salmon dish) took over 45 minutes to come out. And then the next two appetizers came out over an additional 45 minute period. We were well over an hour and a half into our reservation before our entree actually arrived.

Now don't get me wrong, the appetizers and entree were excellent. It was just very frustrating to be given zero indications as to when our food would be coming out over a 2+ hour period. Meanwhile, a new table of 4 was seated next to us, and the same appetizer that we waited well over an hour for was delivered to their table in 10 minutes.

The major issue that really made no sense to us was with our reservation itself. We made a reservation via OpenTable with hopes to use our points (in gift card form) to offset some of the cost of this expensive meal. Unfortunately, the hostess did not actually check us in when we arrived. In doing so, OpenTable marked us as "missing our reservation" and we were unable to redeem our gift card.

Tim, the manager, feebly attempted to remedy the situation, but ultimately concluded to us that this was an OpenTable problem, not his problem. Unfortunately he couldn't be more wrong. This wouldn't have been a problem if we were simply checked in properly in the first place. While we didn't have an issue paying for our meal, this was a special occasion that we were saving these points for. And more importantly, some others wouldn't be so lucky to simply not be able to use a gift card they saved for.

While the food was good and we enjoyed our meal, the overall service and feeling of "it's not our problem" (when everything related to the gift card and our reservation stemmed from not being checked in properly at the beginning) means we will not be returning nor recommending this restaurant to...

Went with my girlfriend on a double date here with a friend/coworker and her boyfriend. We couldn't have left happier.

We arrived for our reservation at this cozy and somewhat quaint neighborhood restaurant located outside the hustle of downtown. We were greeted in a friendly manner and our party remainder and server joined us shortly thereafter.

One ordered a nice dry cider and two of us got the same whiskey/peach cocktail that was good, albeit a bit unbalanced; the peach was lost in the lemon and bourbon but fortunately I like my cocktails a bit on the tart side.

Our server was wonderfully excited to learn it was our first time and was more than gracious about explaining the menu, recommended dishes with a polite emphasis on family style without saying the words; which I love to do and chose this place for us after researching the menu first.

We got about 4-5 appetizers (the pork rillette and corn bread are an absolute MUST TRY), 2 entrees (the ribs are smoked to perfection) and 2 of the same delectable orange creme style dessert. All plates were amazing but the notes were my personal favorite parts of the meal.

Last but certainly not least my hatred off to the entire kitchen. Not only are the dishes/plating inspired and perfectly executed but as someone who spent almost 20 years in the industry full time I can genuinely/adequately appreciate how seemingly silent, precise and graceful the open kitchen is in such a small space. I said so at the end of dinner and my girlfriend hasn't even realized they were there. Such an under appreciated detail so chefs kiss (pun intended) to the backbone of an amazing restaurant offering elevated meals in a...

My partner and I are visiting Denver and after a day out and about decided to stop by this restaurant for dinner because of how great the food looked.

We arrived and asked the host for a table for 2. We notified them we didn't have a reservation. The host didn't say anything about that being an issue and told us to wait outside for 5 minutes (odd because the guy who walked in as we did was allowed to sit off to the side immediately).

After about 10 minutes outside the host comes out and says they can just seat us at the bar (bar was completely empty when we walked in so not sure why we had to waste time waiting outside). Either way that was not what the deal was 10 minutes ago or what we asked for. But hungry and flexible we obliged. The host then made a comment of "just some drinks for you tonight" which is an odd assumption to make when we just asked to sit down at table.

Respectfully voicing our observation with the bartender we were met with the rebuttle of "this is a reservation only restaurant". Which is odd to say when nowhere on their website does it say that. The host didn't make that clear at all to begin with either.

This is the first time in my life I've walked out of a restaurant for not feeling welcome. I won't make assumptions as to why we got the run around. But no one can deny they should have been clear from the beginning of the encounter about their intention. Like everywhere in life, communication is key.

I love food and spend a lot of my money on it so it's a shame we weren't welcomed more...
