This is a fabulous, family-owned business run by some of the nicest people and best bakers I have ever met. There are many options here including fruit and cream pies, ice cream, coffee drinks, and a space suitable for birthday parties and other children's events.
Sweet Sweetz was the childhood nickname of owner, Lodene Turner, and if ever a nickname was appropriate--this is it. Teaming with her daughter and sister, they have created an amazing combination of a bakery, sweet shop, ice cream parlor, coffee shop, and event space.
The first thing I tried here was the peach cobber, which was life-changing. I love cobber, but it is hard to find and often disappointing. This is the signature item and comes in a generous portion of peach nirvana with a perfect crust. There are usually a variety of other fruit pies, all scrumptious and with crusts that are absolute perfection.
The pie selection has expanded to a number of cream pies. I particularly like the chocolate mousse pie and the key lime pie. There's also banana pudding and the recent addition of cheesecake.
There's usually a small tray of treats on the checkout counter including cookies, brownies, and delightful Rice Crispy treats which taste absolutely homemade. I love those.
I haven't yet mentioned the case with eight flavors of Blue Bell ice cream. There's pie a la mode, of course, plus cones, cups, sundaes, floats, shakes, pie shakes, and banana splits. Sweet Sweetz is also one of the few sources of Dole Whip outside of the Disney parks.
There are a variety of espresso drinks using Copper Door coffee plus hot chocolate, fountain drinks, various bottled drinks, coffee, water, and tea.
Sweet Sweetz is happy to do catering in addition to all of this and if you want pies of the highest quality, this is the place. I love pie, I have tried virtually every pie shop in town, and in my opinion, Lodene makes the best pies I have ever tasted.
Everyone here is always happy, friendly, and helpful. This has become a neighborhood hangout, just as Lodene envisioned. You need to hangout here, too. Give Sweet Sweetz a try--you won't be...
Read moreWe stumbled across this place while waiting for our to-go food elsewhere, and I am SO grateful we did. We got pretty much one of everything because it all looked so good and we couldn’t decide. We left with: a slice of key lime pie, a piece of chocolate mousse pie, a piece of blueberry pie, a lemon pound cake slice, and a banana pudding. And when I tell you it was ALL amazing, I mean that with 100% sincerity. Key lime pie - creamy, lime-y and amazing crumbly crust Chocolate Mousse Pie - light and chocolatey without being too rich Blueberry pie - my favorite! Perfectly sweet and fruity and the crust was amaaazing! Lemon cake - excellently citrus-y, with a touch of icing on the top Banana pudding - amazing!! Love banana pudding and can never find it done well with a natural taste, and this place did it!!
And all of this for an extremely affordable price!
Will absolutely be back to try to peach cobbler...
Read moreMy wife and I tried Sweet Sweetz for the first time yesterday. They are way better than advertised. You get that warm home feeling and hospitality being around staff. The pecan pie is what I had. I haven’t had a pie this good since my grandmothers. Everything is made in house you can taste the difference from store bought and a pie crust made from scratch. The buttery flaky crusty and the crunchy crust of the filling and pecans merged together make a tasty combo. My wife had the peach cobbler . let me tell you, the peach cobbler is by far the best I have here tasted. The crispy crust and the sweetness of the peaches, served hot with a scoop of ice cream on top. I was in love at first bite. If you get a chance to try this wonderful place you will not be...
