One of my favorite authentic Mexican food places in all of Denver. Just a small shop where you can go order at the counter and take it to go. (They speak both English and Español.) I know Santiago's is a local staple for some people, but they can't even come CLOSE to having the amount of flavor Tres Americas has in all of their food.
Everything is delicious and homemade from scratch. TORTILLAS? Corn and flour are both amazing. So much better than ANY store tortillas, and especially the local La Favorita tortilla factory. (I think that's the name.) BURRITOS? I pick them up for way too many morning events for the group since everyone loves them. **If you don't like spice, please ask them for something mild, I.e. a bean and cheese. Most of the burritos have a strong spice and flavor level that's typical of real Mexican food. (This ain't no "ColoMex.") BARBACOA? Definitely have picked up a few pounds of it accompanied by some of their homemade salsas and tortillas for several parties. Very flavorful. Highly recommend. (If you haven't had a good barbacoa before, please know that it does come with some fat - that's the flavor after all - so feel free to skim it off if or soak it up if you prefer not to eat that much fat.)
One of the places I always take people to in Denver if you need a quick breakfast burrito or a stack of tortillas. Love this little Tortilleria. Definitely worth the visit. And...

I decided to try to get a chicharron burrito yesterday. I was ready for another disappointment when I saw that all of the food warmers were empty. But disappointment turned into delight when I was told that they were not making the burritos in batches anymore.
Now I can fully and unequivocally say that this place is great! Now if they will just start making burritos on Saturday and Sunday? ââââââââââââââââââââââââ
Have gone to this place a few times. The ChicharrĂłn burrito is very good. But now I have returned 4 MORE TIMES, and they have no burritos and will not make them to order. This place has become a waste of time and I cannot recommend it. If they don't keep the burritos stocked in the warmer, they should make them to order. GET YOUR ACT TOGETHER AND RUN A BUSINESS!
AVOID UNLESS YOU WANT TO WASTE...
Read moreThis is our spot every Sunday, and we mostly come for the burritos and fresh tortillasâtheyâre always fantastic! This time, though, we decided to try the tamales, and unfortunately, they missed the mark. Since we were eating on the go, we unwrapped them in the car, and they just fell apart, crumbling all over us and the seats. Later, we tried reheating a few on the comal at home, but the husks were wrapped too far down into the meat, which made them difficult to separate without taking chunks of meat with them. By the time we managed to fully unwrap them, we were left with either super mini tamales or just a pile of meat with barely any masa.
We love this place, and the staff are always wonderful, but they really dropped the ball on the tamales. Itâs a shame because they wouldâve made a quick, tasty breakfast for my husband. Hope they can tighten up on this oneâotherwise,...
