AT ALL COSTS DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY!!!
Verteran's Carpet One was hired by Lionsbridge Contractor Group to complete a flood restoration in two levels of my home. S&S Floor Surfacing Inc was then contracted as a 3rd tier sub-contractor to complete a flood restoration in two levels of my home. They didn't complete the initial work for 6 months with no explanations from Verteran's Carpet One. When the work was initially completed the floors looked unbelievably terrible. The issues with the flooring were as follows, vapor barrier was not installed under the wood flooring, wood was not left to acclimate prior to installation, initial unfilled gaps of a 1/16th of an inch are present between old and new sections of flooring, surface finish has dirt in it all over the floor, finish is uneven with some areas not getting any finish, nail holes were not filled, pencils lines are present under the finish, gapping between 1/32nd of and inch and 1/16th of an inch over the whole floor within a week due to lack of acclimation, filling is chipping out, because of separation of boards edges are sharp and catch as you walk over them.
Verteran's Carpet One then started work to replace carpet in the damaged areas. During both the wood flooring and carpet replacement I stayed in temp housing covered by the insurance company. The project manager Chris Fall at Veterans Carpet One lied to the insurance company claiming that they had completed the work when the carpet wasn't even installed leaving me and my dogs without a place to live as the insurance company refused to pay for temp housing "after the job had been completed".
The owner of S&S Floor Surfacing Inc came to the home to review the issue with the wood flooring and agreed the repairs were not done to his standards but after discussion with the project manager Chris Fall at Veterans Carpet One they refused to fix the issues. Veterans Carpet One hired an independent inspector to document the condition of the floor and confirmed with a 20 page report that the flooring was not done properly. Veterans Carpet One refused to fix the issues but offered to add a coat of finish. Lionsbridge Contractor Group said to pursue any additional effort would not be possible until S&S Floor Surfacing Inc had an opportunity to fix their mistakes so they came in and added a coat of finish 11 months after the original claim. The rework did not resolve any of the issues previously discussed and the rework looks even worse than the original finish.
Now, over a year has past with unprofessional back and forth and S&S Floor Surfacing Inc, Verteran's Carpet One, and Lionsbridge Contractor Group refuse to fix the flooring.
S&S Floor Surfacing Inc, Verteran's Carpet One, and Lionsbridge Contractor Group are big on customer service and top of the industry promises but terrible on results. They are unethical, unprofessional, and the quality of their work is seriously poor. At all cost do not use...
Read moreIf I could give this company zero stars I would. Working with Chris Falls has been an absolute nightmare. He refuses to take responsibility for his lack of communication. I expressed to him from day one I would like my job completed in one day due to my fiance and my work schedule. He said it may take two days but did not explain why. Install day comes and he gives the wrong address to the subcontractor (I was not informed it was a subcontractor)subcontractors. The guy is an hour late and shows up by himself. Then does not come prepared with staples and has to leave for an hour to get them. He then finished his day at 3pm. Nothing was done to even try to have my job completed in a day. Chris did not say oh the day you want only works for a solo subcontractor. If I was informed of this I would have picked another day.
The job is finished and we find that gaps were left where our closet entryways are despite no doors being in place. We call Chris to have this fixed as we have barn doors and do not want this gap. He says no worries send me pictures and this will go through warranty. Explains He needs pictures to submit the warranty repair. I then wait two weeks and send two follow emails before I receive a call back.
He returns my call and states this is no longer a warranty repair and tries to place the blame on us. He states that this is our job as customers to communicate this despite him coming in person to do the estimate. I expressed to him his failure to communicate through this entire install and my disappointment. He takes no responsibility and stated "your expectations are too high." He is now expecting us to throw some money towards his install manager to have this repaired. I am absolutely shocked that this man has zero regard for customer satisfaction and would rather back pedal & state this is not actually covered by warranty after stating it is and waiting 2 weeks to hear from him. I feel like I am being taken advantage of because I am a first time home owner and a woman. He refuses to listen to customers and does not care to keep customers happy. I will be sure to notify all my friends, family, and clients to avoid...
Read moreWe purchased carpet and install from Veterans Carpet One after about a year of searching for the right carpet. We were very frustrated with the lack of accountability and follow through of other carpet shops. We found the perfect carpet at Veterans Carpet One. Walt was great to work with; getting us measured, taking time to talk through the seams with me, and bringing samples to our house. The install went very smoothly: Juan was wonderful and accommodated our request for scheduling, showing up on time. He also answered any of my questions during install and he installed very quickly and did a great job.
Unfortunately, after a few months, our specific carpet started to have wear issues that were beyond 'normal'.
We contacted Veterans Carpet One and were underway with a claim to the carpet manufacturer within a couple of weeks. Unfortunately the manufacturer wouldn't step up and do what was right, but Veterans Carpet One did.
Both managers, Adam (general) and Andrew (install) went above and beyond answering my concerns and talking through the process with me. They were kind and supportive and in the end we came to a great solution to fix the problem. I absolutely recommend Veterans Carpet One for flooring needs. They were outstanding from a knowledge base, customer service and integrity.
OH! And one more important note! In addition to the carpet on the website, they have sections of in-stock carpet in the showroom that are discounted. If you're not extremely specific about what you're looking for, this is a great section to get high quality carpet at a lower price. The added bonus here is that you don't have to wait for the carpet to ship, and you can get it installed much more quickly.
You know what you're getting with this flooring shop and they went above and beyond to make an issue 'right' that wasn't their fault. Thanks Adam & Andrew! Hopefully I don't need flooring again for a long time, but if I do,...
