WOWZA!! What a gem of a human Trisha is at the Outdoor Research store in Des Moines, WA! From the moment I walked in, she was a ray of sunshine ☀️: so uplifting, kind, incredibly knowledgeable, and just downright fun to talk to! She helped me find the perfect gear and made the whole experience feel like it wasn’t at a store but a friends closet 🧭✨

To top it all off, in my post-shopping bliss, I accidentally left my debit card behind… and Trisha handled it with such care and responsibility like a true hero! She made sure it was stowed securely for my return … she is an absolute class act.

A little smaller than I expected. Good to visit if you have more time than money, esp considering how long the drive is from Seattle. Some good deals although selection is hit or miss. OR is a great company generally, though, and has a store closer to Seattle with in season options that arent marked down.

Update: I bought a hat here, then looked on rei website and found the same hat for even cheaper. Plus REI has a much better return policy! I would just recommend buying stuff from REI. OR makes good products and if you live next to this store it could be useful, but mostly just recommend...

We saw a billboard for this place and decided to swing by later that month. We were impressed with the variety of articles of clothing and sizes in the sample section - sample prices were insane! They also had a lot of end of season clearance items. The sales range from just 20% off 2/70% off. I would guess that a third of the items in the store were final sale, which meant no returns. The other items had to be returned within 14 days. In mid/late March it was almost entirely high-quality winter gear. They’ve already started selling summertime hats and some tank tops and running...
