Location is great with just a half mile walk to the rail station connecting you all the way to City Center. A few convenience stores and an iHop within walking distance too (within half mile). ||I was able to checkin early for $20 since they had my room type ready to go. So that was nice. There was also an option to store my luggage until checkin if I hadn’t wanted to pay the early checkin fee. ||The shuttle drivers were phenomenal and so pleasant in conversation. Front desk staff in the afternoon were very helpful in making my shuttle reservations. ||The pool and hot tub were nice, although overrun with minors and only one adult reading a book in sight. Pool area is tucked away on lower level, so there was no staff supervision or enforcement of age policy with unaccompanied kids. ||||MY ONLY ISSUE- after using the pool/hot tub, (just after 9pm), I was getting out of the shower and my in room phone started ringing. I went to pick it up, but there was nobody on the line. This happened twice. I decided to get dressed and go ask the front desk about it. However, a sharp knocking on my door turned out to be front desk staff. I answered the door wrapped in a towel and the lady just stared at me and said “um, this room is vacant”. To which I chuckled and replied “um, no it’s not. I paid for early checkin and have been here since 10am”. She continued to stare at me seeming to not understand what was happening. Again she repeated herself in saying this room is supposed to be vacant. I told her that if she gave me a few minutes to get dressed I could come to the desk so we could sort this out. She turned to leave while saying “okay, but now we have to figure out what we are supposed to do for this room”. Honestly I was a bit put off by the lack of communication or even courtesy in conversation when coming to a guest room in the night like that. And then at me (the guest) having to offer what to do next. I rushed to throw clothes on from my suitcase and went to the front desk. Only to be told by the other agent that everything is fine with my room as he kind of rolled his eyes toward the lady who was with other guests. I wanted to be clear about what was going on, and he said it had been a mixup. This is when the lady who came to my door chimes in and says “oh your room keys won’t work now”. Since I had both of them with me, I handed them back and they made new ones for me and sent me on my way. No explanation really, and not even a “sorry about the...
Read moreThis review is both of the Motel and Priceline. On 10/18/24 I arrived at 2:05pm to check into the Best Western. Priceline says the check-in is at 2:00. Best Western did not have a room ready and said it would be 30 minutes. I couldn't wait as I had to go to work after having driven 3 hours to get there. I later learned, from Priceline, that when you called them, they said I arrived early. After a few phone calls later, Best Western tells me the check-in is 3pm. From speaking with Priceline several different times, I am extremely tired of businesses, to include Priceline having employees who have very thick accents and don't understand the English language. I continually had to repeat myself, besides the several phone calls and explanations I had to make. I wanted to cancel the reservation and book somewhere else. Priceline would not do that nor, would the motel; due to policy. Please don't respond and tell me what the policy is. I already know that. I finally called the motel myself and I NEGOTIATED a 50% refund. I thought this was being done for the inconvenience but later found it was to cancel and they would only charge me half. After work I went to the motel to check in (1030pm). They told me they cancelled the reservation. At the time of my negotiation with the motel, the manger kept telling me the policy and how they can’t cancel the reservation without charging me. She told me numerous times. I explained to her that customer service (all over) is nonexistent. It used to be when you had a problem with a product or service, the management would work with you. Again she told me numerous times she could not waive the charges, yet she did finally provide me a 50% refund. So obviously she could waive the charge, it was a matter of unwillingness originally. I have also asked for a refund from Priceline but have yet to hear anything. You folk apparently can’t make that decision initially over the phone as it has to go to some other department. Again POOR...

Back in October, we booked a room here to stay for our 10-year-olds birthday because we went to a family fun place nearby. I booked the hotel reservation online, paid for my room a month in advance and everything was fine. When we arrived, they wouldn't accept my debit card for the deposit because it only has a Visa logo and not my banks logo. This was the same exact debit card that I used to pay for the room already and they had no problem taking money from to book the room (which they even acknowledged to be true). I had to use cash app to transfer money to my partner's bank account that we do not use except as a savings account. Keep in mind we had three young kids with us waiting impatiently in the hotel lobby and the whole process took about 30 minutes. The staff was overall pretty rude and not accommodating.
Fast forward to March and my partner gets an alert from a bank card she thought she'd never even used that there was fraudulent activity and someone attempted six different charges totalling thousands of dollars. Thinking she had never even used the card, she called her bank in distress and they told her she was right that it was hardly ever used except for one time at this hotel for the deposit. Literally the only time the debit card number could ever have been exposed was here. It's pretty easy to deduce where our information was leaked when the card was only used once. I immediately called the hotel's general manager, this was now 4 days ago, demanding answers and some sort of compensation and still have not received a return call.
Needless to say, a bad experience in person months ago compounded by our debit card # we should have never even had to have used getting stolen months later and if they don't make this right we will never be staying at a Best Western anywhere and we stay in hotels at least a half dozen...
