About 4 years ago, I came here for my first lip fillers ever. Itās a lovely, well-kept spa. I didnāt bother writing a review at the time because I knew nothing about facial fillers. Flash forward a few years and three different med spas, and I now realize that I had a horrible experience at this place. Hereās why:
I had requested a consultation. When I got there, the woman took me to the back, spoke fast, and rushed through the information before asking, āSo are you ready?ā I felt like I didnāt have a choice because she was talking fast and her demeanor wasnāt very approachable. I went ahead and agreed to do the fillers, but when she injected my lips, it hurt horribly. I would put the pain on par with getting the tattoo I have on my ribs. Not sure why numbing wasnāt included in this service. I got .7 of a syringe, but the lip filler didnāt last more than 3 months. The injector hadnāt bothered asking questions about my metabolism to in order to give me a filler that provided more lasting results.
When I got to the cashier, I ran my card through and the screen prompted me to leave a tip. I asked the cashier if it was customary to leave a tip. She said it was up to me. I felt like I should err on the side of caution, so I left a tip. Of course when you have a several hundred dollar service that you are leaving a tip for, your tip ends up being pretty substantial on top of that. Come to find out that at the other med spas I went to, many cashiers let you know that a tip is not expected on top of higher-cost services.
To summarize, I felt rushed, the injector didnāt numb me, and I was disappointed in the longevity of my results. It may very well be that my experience is not the norm here, but having had so many other positive experiences at other med spas since I visited Avani, it needs to be made known that Avani let this...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreĀ Ā Ā Read moreItās not a secret that I use lip filler, and have for years. I grew up hating my āno-lipsā look, and as I entered my late 20s, I finally decided to address it. I first went to another doctor in town, and had a terrible experienceārude staff made derogatory comments about my tattoo memorial to my dog (literally ānext time your dog dies, get yourself some Botox instead of destroying your skināš), seriously inflated prices (the stuff isnāt cheap, but it was hundreds more there 10 years ago than it is at Nayak/Avani today), and I got a bit of a āJokerā look (not what I was going for, obviously). I canāt even remember why I chose Nayak/Avani for my next experience, but Iām glad I did. Office is always super clean, every single nurse injector has done an amazing job and listens to my picky wishes, and Iāve never looked unnatural or overdone. Iāll continue to go here as long as I live locally and if I ever move, will probably make the trip back twice a year! Super confidence booster for me, no more resting B face, no more fear of inheriting the ācatās buttholeā...
I love Emily, I love IPL and I love the Avani Derm Spa!! After just 1 treatment, the results were mind-blowing. I have fair Asian skin, prone to freckle, and ravaged by years of sun-damage. The procedure itself was super simple, after the application of a very effective numbing cream, the laser treatment took less than half an hour. There is no downtime, other than not being able to exercise for the rest of the day. The pigmentation will eventually darken into ācoffee groundsā and simply flake off after a few days. The process not only evens skin tone but also stimulates collagen...seriously, it is magic! And I applaud all of the safety measures Avani Derm Spa have in place in these extraordinary times. All guests are asked to wait in their cars and go through thorough screening process; masks are of course mandatory for all. Saving the best for last, Emily is incredible - knowledgeable, professional, funny, warm, just amazing!! If you (like I was for too long), are flirting with the idea of investing in yourself...wholeheartedly, please do try IPL at Avani...
