It saddens me to leave this review.
My parents and their friends are repeat customers and return because they find the food satisfying. But on the phone with them tonight I could tell they were upset, and it was because their experience here was anything but satisfying.
The restaurant’s hours are open until 9, and they arrived at 8:10 with their friends, also repeat customers. It took nearly 15 minutes before anyone would seat them or pay them any attention. When they were finally acknowledged, they were told they couldn’t be seated. They pointed to two tables that had yet to be cleaned but were told the kitchen staff had already left.
As they themselves left they ran into a friend also leaving who said they had to wait 30 minutes before anyone would take their order.
I’m sure running a business smoothly isn’t easy, and it is a Sunday on a long weekend. But if you’re not open put a sign on the door that says you’re closed early for the holiday and spare your visitors the wait and the frustration.
I doubt they’ll be back, or their friends will. And now I won’t be going either. You might want to avoid it too, especially if you haven’t called to confirm the service and the wait. (They don’t take reservations.)
UPDATE: Okay, so I decided to give them a second chance. Was hoping I would eat my words. Happy to report that while that night was horrific, today’s experience was fantastic!
Such kind, genuine servers. Such deep, genuine flavors.
All is forgiven....
Read moreWell I wished I would have looked at the more recent reviews prior to making my decision to have my husband get take out from here. My husband arrived at 6:07pm and ordered at 6:10pm. We ordered an appetizer, chicken vindaloo, and dessert. He finally got the food at 7:02pm. I make Indian food from time to time and it doesn't take almost an hour to cook. Also as a restaurant most of the stuff should already be prepped and ready to go for less wait time. My best friend is Indian and even she doesn't take this long to cook meals unless there were alot of dishes involved. We also have been to many Indian restaurants all over the United States, when we travel, and even they don't take almost an hour to make and serve our food. The restaurants we've been to and will go back to are well prepared for exceptional customer service. It is your repeat customers that will make you generate revenue to stay open. And it's your customer service that will allow clients to come back. I will not be a repeat customer unless you're willing to improve on your customer service. People pay top dollar not just for the product but for the experience. My husband just got home with our food at 7:15pm. Everything is cold except for the Chicken Vindaloo. I ordered spicy and for Indian food that was not even...
Read moreMany years ago, I spent an obscene amount of money on dinners from an Indian restaurant in St. Louis. Sadly, the restaurant changed ownership & the food was never the same. I've searched high and low for an Indian restaurant in St. Louis that served the same quality of food and couldn't find any. Fast forward to a few days ago when I randomly found Flavors. I am so happy I did. I got the dish that I judge all Indian restaurants on (Navratan Korma) and was so happy when I tasted it. It was unbelievably flavorful. As a vegetarian I'm always thrilled when restaurants treat their vegetables right (not overcooking them, using real veggies not frozen) and Flavors does a wonderful job with their veggies, not only are they super fresh they are also cut and cooked perfectly. I'm excited to try more dishes, I'm pretty sure you can't...
