I feel it is my responsibility to inform you on why you should NOT book with Destin Luxury Beach Rentals. I’m not usually a person to write reviews; however, this company is absolutely horrendous. Here is my experience: I went on a family vacation about two weeks ago and we stayed in one of the companies’ luxury homes (Captain’s Quarters). The home was in decent condition, all amenities, and accommodations were provided except for the passcode we needed to unlock the complimentary bikes they had on the property (so we had to wait 24hrs before we could use them). The next issue encountered: The landscapers came at peak hours of the day when we wanted to get in the pool. They would trim the bushes & then blow the leaves and shrub everywhere causing it to get in the water and make the pool dirty. Throughout our 7 day stay we found multiple roaches in the house. They were alive and extremely large. The BIGGEST issue I had with this company was lack of honesty and communication. On the day we left the house I realized I left a pair of shoes at the property. These were brand new shoes still in the box, NEVER WORN! Multiple people in our group emailed Ellen, a woman from the management company in reference to the shoes left behind; we did not receive a response from them for days. Finally the response we did get was verbatim “asked cleaners, no shoes”. Very dry and lacked empathy. My question: Who was in the house prior to the cleaning team? I proceeded to email Ellen again to further investigate the situation. I was polite and friendly, I even gave specific instructions on where I left the shoes. Again, a dry response although this time she stated that she had asked someone named Justin, and the cleaning crew, and neither had seen the shoes. I replied and asked if I could come double check the house and if I could contact the cleaning company myself. Of course I got no response and had to again email Ellen. This time she stated there were no shoes and that she could not give out employee’s numbers. Never once did I ask for an employee’s number, I asked for a company number. I have proof that I left my shoes in the house. That clearly means someone stole my shoes! That is just disrespectful, perfidious, & saddening. It seems the cleaning company has not been properly vetted, or someone at the Destin Luxury Beach Rentals is dishonest. The management was so distasteful about the entire situation. A reputable company would have been polite and eager to assist. Unless you want a dreadful experience I suggest you think about booking with...

Do not believe a word out of the owners mouth. We read the bad reviews before we did business with him and he said that the negative reviews were competitors trying to make him look bad. Let me tell you that he DOES NOT need help looking bad, he does that all on his own. He is never available when things go wrong, he does not answer his phone, texts or emails when he knows things are not going well, word on the street in Destin is he ended up in some sort of rehab and basically just abandoned all of his clients. He nickel & dimed us to death, he charged guests for our elevator, extra garages and pool heat but kept it off the books so we did not know and he kept all the money. Our elevator was never supposed to be used by guests because it is temperamental, Jordan rented it to guests for an additional fee and then when it broke he deducted over 25% of our booking fee to make the guests happy and then we also had a $1000.00 repair bill for something that he originally claimed his staff could repair.(dead backup batteries). Remember the elevator WAS NOT supposed to be offered to guests. The other time he rented the elevator to guests for a person in a wheelchair but did not thoroughly explain which floors the elevator went too. When the guests arrived they stayed for 5 hours then decided they did not like that the elevator did not stop at one of the floors so Jordan put them in another house and did not pay us anything for the lost rental due to his lack of detailing the house to the guest. So we lost over $8500.00 because he rented the elevator when he was told not too. I could go on and on about this POS but I won't make you read everything. His wife and maintenance guy tried to make things work and were the only decent people there but things escalated out of control from the start. Our house has consistently brought in revenue of over $100k, Jordan brought in just over $36k in 2019. We also had our condo with Jordan and it was equally as bad, never cleaned well to the point that we hired additional cleaners to make things right. Our condo sells itself and pulls in revenues of around $40k every year and Jordan brought in just over $23k. Needless to say he put us in a bad spot with both properties. First and foremost, the young lady who helped me from the start was Ellen. Whenever I called Ellen or emailed her, she always made a point to email or call me within the hour. I really appreciated her time responding to my calls and/or emails. Also, the guy who handled the maintenance for that particular house was awesome; very nice, understanding, and patient, although we did not have any problems, just some questions.

The house is everything that they described in the picture and then more. Over the years, I booked rental houses in different areas for our annual family vacation and the Destin Luxury Beach Rentals Company and staff is one of the best to work with. Sometimes our family experienced the vacation houses or condos that were not always what the picture or the company expressed in their emails or on their website, but the experience with this house rental with Destin Luxury was awesome. Thank God, we only had one bad experience, but in respect to the owner of that particular house, she refunded part of our money back, which was not expected.

The neighbors was friendly and the gentlemen who lived next door came over and relayed friendly advice to me about the trashcans, etc. He asked about our family and we talked about his family and the owners of the house we was renting. Our family is military and it was nice to talk to him because he was military and so was the owners. We thanked each other for the service to our country and all was well. The beach was across the street, right outside the gate, and everything was provided for us. Our family enjoyed the house and we pray God bless us again to rent there soon.
