I am a non-confrontational person and I never take the time to write a review, be it good or bad. But our experience with this store has been so terrible that we thought we should warn others. Buyer beware of this place for sure! In May 2013, we came across this store while out shopping. We found a wooden monogram and decided to purchase it, to have it shipped directly to our home (out of state) when it was finished. Three weeks was the time frame given for completion. We paid extra to have the monogram shipped via Fed-ex. Over 6 weeks came and went and I called the shop to find out the status of our order. The woman I spoke with on the phone assured me our order was on the board to be cut shortly and explained the woman who did the monogram cutting had had some personal issues and, as a result, was running behind. I told we that we understood these things happen, and I verified our shipping address with her, which she confirmed. Another 2 months or so went by, no product, no word from the shop. We called again to inquire and were informed that ours was up next on the cutting board. Another month went by (it was October at this point), called again, same deal, same result. By February 2014, 9 months after we purchased the wooden monogram, I had completely forgotten about it. However, my husband did not. He asked me if I had heard anything, which, of course, I had not. I called the store and asked for a manager. I was informed that since it was a Saturday, there was not a manager in the store. I explained our situation and let the sales associate know that, at this point, we just wanted a refund. He informed me someone would be in contact on Monday. Monday afternoon (02/03/2014), someone in shipping and receiving called to let me know that they had shipped our product but received it back. I asked them to confirm the address. She replied that they shipped to 119 xxxxxxxxxxx Drive. When I said that was not our address or what was written, she replied, "Well, the hand-writing was a little unclear, the number could have been a 7 or a 9 or a 4, we weren't sure." She then said they would get it shipped back out immediately. The following Monday (02/10/2014), we had not received the item. Knowing Fed-ex should not have taken that long, I called back and asked for the tracking number. The store associate said she would look it up. She came back to the phone to let me know she checked the tracking status of the item and it showed delayed due to the weather, but it should be there shortly. On 02/14/2014, we received the product. I looked on the box and it was shipped USPS priority mail, not the more expensive Fed-ex we paid for back in May. It also was shipped on 02/12/2014, per the postage stamp. Two days after the associate told me she had "checked the tracking, which showed delayed due to weather." To wrap this up, we were lied to for 9 months by this store. Repeatedly told our product was coming, it was already shipped, etc. After receiving the product and knowing we were lied to just this past Monday regarding the shipping makes me think it was never shipped out to the "wrong address" in the first place. Why, if as the associate claimed, the handwriting was unclear, would they just go ahead and guess as to the address? Not to mention, if the product came back to them, WHY DID THEY NOT CALL US to verify the correct address and let us know? This is a terrible way to run a business. I agree with another reviewer that commented once you've placed an order and they have your money, customer service goes out the door. You are honestly buying at your own risk from this...
Read moreThere are few places that warrant me writing a review for and Frill Seekers Gift store is one of them! Great store with fantastic customer service and follow up.
My husband and I will celebrate our 50th wedding anniversary in April, a feat in itself in this day and age. We decided we wanted to host a gathering of friends and family, but did not know where to begin. We each had different "visions" of how this celebration should properly be held.
We spotted this shop on an afternoon stroll and stopped by to just get some ideas. The sales staff was very helpful and gave many suggestions on invitations, theme, dress code, etiquette and 50th anniversary traditions.
Knowing a general of idea of what we wanted, they special ordered/ custom designed a gold theme invitation and RSVP cards. A proof was prepared for my husband to review and approve. It arrived timely and was GORGEOUS.
The store followed up with us to suggest matching napkins featuring the 50th Anniversary theme we selected and also cups and bookmarks for favors. This is important to note as we had been to 3 different shops in our hometown of New Orleans, Louisiana and not a single one of them offered additional suggestions.
We chose to drop ship our invitations to our home and the box arrived with the most gorgeous invitations I ever did see. Shortly after the additional items, 50th napkins, monogrammed cups, and favors arrived. Again, they met our expectations completely. The final products were exactly as we proofed and were completed quite nicely. Our photographs show the completed order so nicely.
Frill Seekers in Destin is a very quaint store in a small town with big town selection and hometown service. We will recommend the place here online and also in person to...
Read moreI showed up at 10am Monday morning, waited until 10:05 to get out of my car and go to the door (because I didn’t wanna be “that person” who’s knocking on the door at the exact open minute)...the lights were on but the door was locked. I stood outside in the pouring rain for some time- shook the door and knocked, thinking maybe they’d just forgotten to unlock it. I finally got back in the car, waiting until 10:10 and tried again- same thing. Waiting in the parking lot until 10:15, called the store TWICE with no answer, until my husband and I finally got annoyed with waiting and we left. I called around noon to confirm if they were even gonna open at all, explained this scenario above and was just told “no, we’ve been here- the door probably just didn’t get unlatched but we’re here.” I reitterated my issue, yet was offered No apology for the frustrating experience. It was as if it were my own fault that I waited in the rain to offer them my money and business. I would other wise not waste my own time posting a review, however, I feel like the other “lesser than five star reviews” are perhaps accurate on the “customer service” front. I run two business myself and would never make a customer feel so unimportant and unheard with their issue. I’d say you guys need to practice your public...
