TRUTH TIME: I took my vehicle to checker collision because it is very close to my home, and I read positive reviews by multiple females, BUT I am more than disappointed with both the service, and the lack of respect for me. I have a high end vehicle... They convinced me to not go through the insurance and pay them cash. I did. When the simple repair was not done correctly, I had to return the car five times. Every time, they made me feel as though I was harassing and bothering them. There was so much wind coming in through my driver side door that I couldn’t even hear the other person in the car when she was trying to talk to me. Rather than take my concern seriously, or even drive the vehicle to hear the noise themselves, they made multiple excuses and finally “fixed” it in front of me without removing the door to do it right. I know from experience never to trust anyone that says they will do you a favor. So that’s why I expect quality work when I pay full price! I’ve already made an appointment to take the car somewhere else and have it fixed correctly. Save yourself a headache and take your car to Collex or a well known shop where you will get a computerized print out/invoice and have certified people working on your car that take pride in their work (and be clean...so damn dirty there) So much for trying to keep my business local.
Called for a quote, as my car was hit by a drunk driver and was having issues with audio. Some angry, weird guy answered and proceeded to be the rudest person I've talked to in a while. He gave me 2 appointment times and when I stopped for a moment to think about it, he responded with "I have other people on the line, WHAT do you want" I hung up. I expected some frustration but not that nasty attitude. I'm happy to find somewhere else to go in the city.
Edit* The owner proceeded to call me "To apologize" but instead spent the first half of the call telling me why his associate might have talked to me that way and that I took "several minutes" to respond. I did not take more than 5-10 seconds. I expressed to the owner that I did not take several minutes, but a few seconds and that if he was calling to dismiss me or defend his associate, he could save the call because I've also worked in customer service AND had stressful days but talking to someone like that was not acceptable. He then stated that I had an attitude. I rarely leave reviews but I'm so put off by this experience. Horrible example of dismissive behavior toward female customers in the car industry. I guess it's easier to call someone difficult for asserting themselves that they know what happened, rather than rectifying the situation. Mind you I never received the apology. His demeanor was "I WAS going to apologize" but I guess he figured I didn't need deserve the apology because he didn't like me or how I explained myself. I called another body shop right after with my exact same demeanor AND background noise and alland they were perfectly pleasant and easy to talk to. They got me booked immediately. Ill be telling everyone I know to stay away from this place and giving them the name of the shop I'm...
Read moreAs much as I would love to review the work done here, they have my car and continue to lie about when it will be completed. I strongly recommend avoiding Corktown Collision. My experience here has been nothing but lies and excuses. Every day I was told my car would be ready, and every day they pushed it back with no explanation. Eventually, they just stopped answering my calls altogether. I still do not have my car as I write this.
On top of that, I experienced sexist treatment that made an already stressful situation even worse. Instead of being upfront and respectful, they talked down to me and acted like holding my car hostage was acceptable.
If you value honesty, professionalism, and basic respect, take your business elsewhere.
As an update to this review, I would take the 1 star away if I could. It took 2 extra days to get the car back due to it needing detailing to get all of the glass out. The second I closed the door, pieces of glass started appearing on the drivers side and passenger floor. Seems the detail was lost in the detailing.
Also do not expect them to deliver your vehicle, or provide a loaner car as they advertise on their website. I had to spend hundreds on a rental car and pay for a ride share to pick my car up. This was after being yelled at and hung up on earlier in the morning. He wouldn’t even look me in the eye when I picked the car up.
Run far away from this business. While they may have once been a quality and reliable business, the owner or manager stated multiple times that he has staffing issues and can’t keep up with his demand. If a business can’t keep staff, there is a...
