If you’re a fan of vintage treasures and salvaged artifacts, Detroit Urban Artifacts in Detroit, MI, is a must-visit. This unique shop is packed with an eclectic collection of architectural salvage, vintage medical items, rare signs, and all sorts of quirky, one-of-a-kind finds. Walking through its aisles is like stepping back in time, with each corner revealing something new, from ornate doors and industrial fixtures to fascinating pieces of Detroit history. The atmosphere here is amazing—equal parts nostalgic and mysterious—and the staff are passionate and knowledgeable, always ready to share the story behind their items. Whether you’re a decorator, collector, or just love unusual items, you’ll feel right at home browsing their vast and varied selection. Detroit Urban Artifacts is truly a hidden gem for anyone looking to add character to their space or discover a bit of Detroit’s past.

Detroit Urban Artifacts is by FAR the coolest vintage and architectural salvage shop in Michigan! I’ve been into cool old things and rifling through my grandmas attic since I was a kid, and this place gives me those exact same feelings of being on the hunt for the next buried treasure! Every corner you turn and every drawer you open has something unique for you to find! Each item has a lifetime of history and experiences in the world and it’s so fun to imagine where each item has been throughout its lifetime! Every time I find myself in this shop I come home with several new treasures to fill my home with. Ryan and Holly are both super knowledgeable and friendly and always ready to answer any questions, help you find what you’re looking for, or even just chat about the cool vintage stuff you inherited from Aunt Sue!

This is a really cool place and my photos do not do it justice. Ryan the owner was pleasant and truly helpful- he found the hinge we were looking for. We had already searched the drawers and found one however he searched and found it's mate!! I would venture to say that it has the largest selection of antique door knobs and hardware definitely in Michigan and beyond. From floor to at least 12 foot ceiling- it was full. Furniture, antiques, vintage clothing, hardware, signs, glassware, doors, collectibles, and so much more to even attempt to list. Things were organized yet there were nooks, shelves, and drawers that made the search even more fun. Reasonably priced- we are talking very unique antiques!
