Human-I-T on 7 Mile — Local services in Detroit

Human I-T on 7 Mile is an amazing place! It is one of Detroit’s hidden gems. I was fortunate to see Human I-T’s PR liaison, Jen, on Fox 2 news talking about the agency this morning. I immediately got dressed and went to check it out!

I cannot express my gratitude enough for the exceptional experience I had at this place. From the moment I stepped in, I was warmly welcomed by the staff. Everyone from the store manager, Ed, the assistant store manager Jake, to the navigation tech expert, Nate, were extremely accommodating, ensuring I found the perfect tech devices suited to my needs. Nate guided me through various options making sure I understood every aspect. I even had the chance to meet Jen who I had just seen on Fox 2 this morning! The IT repair expert, Boris, was a lifesaver, swiftly resolving an issue I had with my laptop. Human I-T’s customer service is second to none.

Human I-T’s dedication to making technology accessible and affordable for Detroiters—offering devices, internet plans, tech support, and digital skills training—is commendable. I needed a new computer for school but didn't want to spend too much because I haven't worked since the pandemic and was a victim of identity theft. I called in advance, and there was no answer.

Then, a few minutes later, I received a phone call back from the store, even though I didn't leave a message or anything. I spoke to Lauren and explained what I was looking for. She was very patient and answered my questions with no hesitation or frustration. I told her I would try to make it into the store today but wasn't sure.

When I arrived, as soon as I opened the door, Lauren greeted me by name, and she and her supervisor, Ed, greeted me and warmly welcomed me in. Lauren had the computer I was interested in ready and allowed me to check it out. After checking my program requirements, I needed a higher processor, and she showed me one that was exactly what I needed. It was more expensive, but Lauren went through every possible option that would potentially get me a discount. I didn't qualify, but the computer is in excellent condition and so much more affordable than buying anywhere else.

I'm an Eastsider & would probably have never known about it had he not invited me.

First, I like the space: very open, modern, & visually pleasing (check out the wall of green against the brick).

Next, I had an opportunity to meet Ari & Jake, both friendly, welcoming, knowledgeable & professional! I have a bit of experience working with computers, but am only a few clicks past dinosaur - they were patient & were able to answer all of my questions & offered some services, reasonably priced, to assist with my needs.

They've only been here for a couple of years but what they are offering to the community is amazing! Did you know you could buy computers, tablets AND get computer class training & connection to other much needed community resources?! 🙆🏾‍♀️🤷🏾‍♀️

Anyway, you should visit Jake & Ari & see what's right at your fingertips!
