This Can't Be The Same Jerk At Nite From The DMV. I Drove 28 Minutes (20MI) To The Avenue Of Fashion. The Only Available Parking Was The Seedy Parking Lot Of Mike's Market (Corner Of 7Mile & Livernois) If You Know You Know. Waited 5 Minutes Just Inside The Door. Only To Be Told That They Were Not Allowing Dine In ( It's 6pm) Only Take Out. Looking At The Food On The Only Table That Was Dining In. I Still Wanted Some Jerk Nachos, Oxtails & Jerk Chicken To Go. Overhearing What I Intended To Oder. The Young Lady Informed Me That They Were Out Of Nachos. Disappointed But It Is What It Is. I Asked Do They Have Some Oxtails Available. The Young Lady Replied, "Yes, We Have Oxtails Available" I Then Preceeded To Order Some Oxtails, Only To Be Told Immediately That I Had To Leave Out The Restaurant And Go Around Back To Place A Take Out. (Ma'am You Could Have To Me That 15Min Ago As I Stood Waiting Patiently For You To Acknowledge Me) Nevertheless, Heading Out To Go Around Back In This Dimly Lit Parking Lot. There Was About 3 People Waiting. After Standing At The Counter Waiting Patiently Again For Another 5 Minutes. I Was Told That They Were Not Accepting Anymore Take Out Orders. IKYFL!! That's Ok. I Dont Regularly Eat On This Side Of Town Anyway. So I Never Have To Return. Ill Just Wait Until The Next Time Im In Baltimore. Consequently, Joe Muers Had The Wagyu Short Rib w/Diablo Shrimp Was Back. So My Night Wasn't A Total Waste. Best Of...
Read moreThe vibes was all there! Dancehall on play at a good semi loud volume but my group was still able to carry on conversation. The space is a bit intimate but about the same as other eateries in the area. Both booth and table seating are available.
Food, FOOD, FOOOOOOOOOD!
The wings were spicy and done sticky like I likey! I had the Jammin Salmon with cabbage and rice and peas as well as some coco bread. All of this was JAMMMMMMMMIN! I prefer to mix up my salmon, cabbage and rice and peas which definitely elevated the eating experience beyond just sampling on the fork between each item. The cabbage juice added a lil som’n special to the rice and peas and salmon juice. The coco bread was fluffy, lightly buttered and near heavenly.
My group also had two orders of the curry chicken with rice and peas and cabbage and a chicken patty. We each had our own order of coco bread.
One more thing. There’s a separate entrance in the back facing Mike’s Market for take out orders with short-term seating and a place to order and pay. It’s cool for people dining in to not have folks standing around while food is being served or eaten. This is also helpful for getting takeout when just running out the house real quick to pick up food without having to linger in or stroll through the dine-in area.
This is my new fav Jamaican...
Read moreI hate to give negative reviews for small business but I have to be honest my family spent 170.00 on the food and tried the yaddi jerk dish , it was completely toooooooo spicy it should have a warning sign on the menu! My aunt couldn’t even eat it! The wings & tings taste like u we’re eating pure ghost peppers 🥵🥵🥵We didn’t appreciate the forced the sides on your meal for example if you order oxtails or jerk it only came with rice& peas& cabbage you couldn’t sub, & that to me felt they wanted you to buy more sides just to try them and that’s exactly what we did! And that’s how our bill was 170.00 for 4 entrees 😩, and to be honest they were not worth it the mac was soooo spicy I was vexed I spent $8.00 on it it was NOT EDIBLE! Unless you want your mouth on fire and not be able to taste the rest of your food! The oxtails were NOT TENDER!! That meat is too expensive & delicacy to be thrown out!! But that’s what I had to do.. smh even the cabbage was nasty 🤮 undercooked so badly I was crunching like I was eating fried chicken & I don’t like overcooked cabbage but this taste like they threw it in a pan for 10 minutes and served it!!! The beef patties were good 👍 the rice and peas were good. But I wouldn’t go back if this was the only place open I was starving !! and someone...
