I bought a DJ controller (Numark NS7iii, order #31589) from Pro Sound Gear that was a store model/demo. At the time, they were offering a coupon code ("switchnew") to buy an open box/demo item and upgrade to a new one for the same price. Their online check-out had no credit card field in which to put my card #. I had to call them for help. That evening as I dealt with an email support tech trying to complete my purchase, he told me I could get an extra $50 off my purchase for my inconvenience (which I never got). Once my purchase finally went through, their shopping cart never asked for my shipping address. The next morning, Pablo Delgadillo contacted me from ProSound Gear to ask for my shipping address. I had never received a receipt from ProSound Gear, although the $ had been debited from my bank account. When I spoke to Pablo to give him my shipping address, I asked him to confirm I was receiving a new model since I had used the coupon code "switchnew." He told me a variety of different stories--he was out of stock, the coupon code was not valid, I had purchased the "wrong" demo model, etc....he gave me the run around REAL GOOD. At one point, he even tried to discourage me from wanting the item I had purchased because, he reminded me, it did not come with Serato DJ software (which I already have & therefore did not need). Finally the next day, Pablo told me he could not honor the coupon code because, in a nutshell, it was too costly for him, & he'd lose $ (he hinted at this but did not say it directly). That was on a Thursday or Friday. I did not hear from him for days (while he continued to hold my money) and NEVER sent me my receipt. I took out a PayPal working capital loan in order to buy the gear, and I only borrowed enough to cover the sale price (as obviously that's all I thought I needed). Now, I have no receipt so PayPal, if they investigate, may think I misappropriated the borrowed funds....and I don't have enough money on the loan to buy this same item elsewhere because it's not on sale for that price elsewhere. I have to pay back the loan now without having the item I purchased. The origination fee of the loan was about $100, which is an extra loss for me now. Due to Pro Sound Gear's false advertising & attempts to bait & switch me, I'm burdened with a seemingly fraudulent loan and have no way to get the gear I need right now. After days of not hearing a word from them, Pablo contacts me today (almost a week after my purchase) & says my money has been refunded. I never asked for a refund. I want what I bought. I need it due to the loan I acquired to purchase the gear! Pablo did not bother notifying me of the refund when he processed it, nor did I ever get a receipt confirming the order cancellation. When I pleaded for a receipt after Pablo told me he had silently/blindly refunded me, I was flat-out told no (so I have no purchase receipt & no order cancellation receipt). Also, you might be interested to know it says on ProSoundGear's website that they are Better Business Bureau accredited, but when you click on the badge, it takes you to their BBB profile page that clearly states ProSoundGear is not...
Read moreAlthough I have had some bad transactions over the years, this one with Pro Sound Gear Inc. takes the cake. I ordered a very expensive DJ controller for my son for Christmas. It was his only gift. He is on the autistic spectrum and has finally found his comfort in DJ'ing and is thriving at it. Safe to say this gift was going to be a very big deal for him. The ordering process was seamless and the shipment arrived in a timely fashion, however the box was dented all over and it appeared the box was packaged poorly. Upon opening the box I was sick. The $1,000.00 controller was in the box with one thin piece of bubble wrap around the sides and nothing else. The controller had ample room to bounce around this box during shipment with NO PROTECTION. I took multiple photos and immediately contacted the company to let them know and asked them to send me a return shipment label, as I wanted to return it and purchase the item from a more reputable company. I will also add, there was no users manual, nor any cords to power up the system included in the box. The company refused to help. They reminded me it was a DEMO and I would have to pay to ship it back. After going back and forth for days, I decided to wait to see if it worked on Christmas before returning it. (At this point I didn't notice there was no power cord included and only became aware of it on Christmas day) Christmas came and my son was devastated. He has come a long way with his disability but this was too much for him to process and our hearts were broken for him. The next day we went to a reputable store nearby and purchased the same system, which we should have done initially but tried to save a few dollars. We then paid $130.00 to ship this back to Pro Sound Gear and after a week, hadn't heard anything. When I was able to confirm they had received it due to UPS tracking, they said they would refund us the money within 5 business days. We then received an email stating they would only refund $836.00 of the $930.00 we paid, as they were going to charge us for a restocking fee and shipping. I am not a hateful person and never want to cause anyone harm but this company needs to go. It is now my personal mission to do all I can to get the word out to consumers to stay away from this company. If I wasn't afraid of humiliating my son, I would have our local news stations take over for me on this. They are great clients of ours and are willing to cover the story the minute I say the word. I simply cannot do this to our son, as he has suffered enough....
Read moreThis company advertised on their website a soundboard and a case that we ordered and paid for. I got an email stating the items had shipped. Later that day I received a call from a gentleman that said he was in charge of shipping. He told me their website was wrong and the advertised price was not correct and they would not honor the price they advertised. If I wanted the merchandise then I would need to pay more. I explained that I got notification the items had shipped already. He explained they had not and the manager told him he would need to call me and be the bearer of bad news. So odd the manager himself didn't call since we're looking at a transaction that was $700. I told them I would decide what I wanted to do and get back to them. I tried to call the manager several times and left a message but he never did return my call. I went ahead and paid the extra amount to receive part of the order.
I received an email from them asking for me to review my product before I ever received the merchandise. I see this company has not solved its clerical errors issue because this is what they sent in their email "While we work hark providing customers with low prices and the best service possible we also need your your fantastic feedback on Facebook!" Ummm I think they could start with first making sure what they post and send out is accurate.
It's really disappointing ... we will not be purchasing product from this company in the future. They could have had a customer for life ... but instead I hope that extra money they made this time was well worth it.
RESPONSE: I really appreciate you attempting to solve the problem but from our end I think that’s not really fixing it for us. We are a small organization trying to upgrade our current sound system and XLR cables aren’t really what we need. I think the real issue is that there was a $150 difference between what you advertised and what you decided to sell it for post purchase. I can understand if future purchases you wouldn’t want to sell it for that advertised price. We are just really disappointed about how it was handled from your end with no call from a manager or returned call. I think we would have never left a negative review if someone would have reached out beforehand and tried to make it right. I think to decide to give us something we don’t need is missing the mark as well as missing the point. I feel like to truly fix the problem would be to actually give us something that’s beneficial to our...
