Most unpleasant, demeaning experience with Licensing dept Downey location, with (3) staff members, the main two are the two front Clerks. I told the female with black hair Iâd like to inquirie about a license, after taking my information such as copies of vaccines, and my drivers license card she asked what felt like interrogating questions, and said âgo sit down and wait to speak with my Supervisor, he will decide if you will get a citation.
Sat down on the lobby bench for about ten minutes, 6 pm was approaching and I approached the window to ask the female clerk for my drivers license as I realized she did not return it, upon getting closer my license was out in the open on her desk facing up at view, and I saw her laughing and talking about my situation, I said to her I see youâre laughing about my scenario, please return my drivers license, she said here because Iâm not helping you, with a most demeaning curt tone.
Again I waited and I asked the male Clerk, are you going to assist me itâs almost 6 pm, his response was âwell obviously I have to get to youâ thatâs when I asked for the copies of vaccines back from them and the female Clerk handed me the wrong forms one appeared to be a Seacca form in Spanish, those were clearly not the vaccine copies.
A gentleman came out to greet many of us in the lobby to ask if weâve been helped, I took that opportunity to ask how to file a complaint about the two Clerks and shared Iâm waiting to speak to the Supervisor, he corrected me and stated the male Clerk is an acting Supervisor, he asked me to hang on while he grabbed a card with the Supervisorâs info thanked him, shook his hand and advised I appreciate his honesty.
I approached the clerk window and that is when a 3rd staff member got involved she stood up between the two clerks sitting in there chairs and said to me âIâm their Supervisor, Officer Tapia, she proceeded to ask me whatâs the problem, and her voice escalatedâ the male Clerk intervened and said to me why donât you just come back tomorrow we canât help you, I responded yes you can assist me, it is your job to help me, I then said I know youâre only the acting Supervisor, so act like one and please be professional.
Officer Tapia yelled at me, I said please speak to me over here on the side if you want to assist me, she yelled I will not order her to come speak to me she will speak to me when she is ready.
The nice gentleman came out again and took all three staff members to have a side bar, officer Tapia walked me to a rear room and immediately fessed up and said I am not there Supervisor I am just now coming in from my shift. Instead of getting upset I thanked her for trying to diffuse the situation and proceeded to explain again and repeat myself why I was there.
All office personnel lost credibility and I didnât have any trust in anyone.
Maybe the staff felt empowered by a dog catching uniform, maybe it was their ego, their young age, it could be they were having a bad day, but no customer/client should ever be treated so poorly.
Iâd like to think that an organization such as Seacca would know better than to treat our community in such a disrespectful way, lieing and portraying to hold a Supervisor position is also inexcusable!
I wasnât expecting stellar customer service, but decent service to say the least would have been great.
All the Indians claim to be Chief, will the real Supervisor please...
Read moreRecently I went to adopt after years of looking for a dog to suit my needs as I am chronically ill. I found a beautiful older german shepherd. I asked about her temperament and was told she was calm, friendly and not at all aggressive. We went outside to get to meet her and all seemed well so we decided she was the dog for me. I was told she was vaccinated, dewormed and completely healthy as she had just been checked over, I was even given a certificate as proof. Fast forward to a couple weeks later and my furbaby began to stop eating and showing signs of being sick. I took her to our local vet who informed me she had never been dewormed and was full of parasites. Hundred of dollars of treatment later she finally began to gain weight and improve. Then she began to show signs of aggression towards other dogs. We were told she was dog friendly. Her aggression began to get so out of control that we decided this just wasn't going to work as we have 3 kids and as I said I am chronically ill. I drove back to SEACCA and explained the situation. To my surprise the girl at the front desk informs me that it is MY fault that it didn't work out. That it is MY fault that I took home an aggressive dog as I should have KNOWN better than to think a shelter has the time to actually check a dog's behavior. She then informs me that since I was chronically ill why I would even bother to get a German Shepherd then again says "you should have known better." Wow. So I guess SEACCA employees not only don't check a dog's behavior and are willing to place aggressive dogs with families with children, but apparently we as chronically ill human beings shouldn't be so stupid to think we can adopt old German Shepherds. They refused to take her back and told me to find a different shelter to take her to. After seeing how awful this place's work ethic is I realized I honestly wouldn't even want to return my poor dog to this place. I brought her back home and decided to pay for training and she is doing a million times better. I have to say that if I cold give this vile place no stars I would, but sadly Google doesn't allow for that. I have never been treated so poorly in my life for being ill. This place needs to be torn down and the poor animals need to go to shelters that actually care about them and their future homes. Please be careful when you adopt at this place. I have since found out I am not the only person to get aggressive dogs sold to them as friendly. It is extremely neglectful on their part, but as the employee informed me their don't care we should...
   Read moreGreat animal adoption center!
I really enjoyed SEAACA in Downey, California. The staff were all very gracious! I went to visit and find a dog to adopt. I was amazed at some of the beautiful dogs (and cats) that are available.
There are alot of reasons an animal is in this facility looking for a new owner (hoping somebody will have room in their heart to invite them into their family). I asked and was told a few of the reasons; sometimes the owner is moving and can't take the dog with them, of course some are lost and sadly some are abandoned.
The facility is very clean and well managed. The well organized layout helps you easily locate the animal you would prefer as they are arranged by sex and size. You want a small female dog, they are in the first kennel door, to the right. There were about 20 available in that section when I visited.
Some were very cute, beautiful, even gorgeous. Others were a bit tattered, some with longing eyes, longing for you, to have you reach over and pet them. Ah, the perfect candidate, the one for you, pressing her nose through the wire enclosure so you would see that she is very eager to be your buddy, your lifelong pal, pals to the end is what she is longing for.
Families were visiting. I talked with one man that told me his dog had died just one week ago so here he was looking for another companion for him and his wife. A young father with his son and daughter were considering adopting a small white dog; poodle mix perhaps with shitzu. He needed a bath for sure and some loving.
A few potential adopters asked for my opinion, so I was happy to share what I thought with these kind people. I notice that people that like dogs (animals) are easy for me to talk with. I like that about animal lovers.
The adoption fee is low, ranging from $75 to $135. The fee includes the shots that are required for placement with a new owner... so that really makes the fee low. They do have a box for donations and I notice that they accept volunteers; there was a posting for full and part time hire.
I hope this info helps you and also helps these beautiful animals find their new loving owner.
