Robert White Park + Dog Park — Attraction in Norwalk

Nice, relaxing place. Shade is plentiful and accessible. Didn't run into any doggie landmines. We didn't use the bball courts (though there were a few games going) But they appeared in good repair and same for the playground. The only reason I didn't give it 5 stars is because half of the park is closed off. We didn't need the extra space, but it was disconcerting to see half of a public park made off-limits to, well...the public.

I'm sure there's a reason, but seems like there are some mystical keeper of the keys who decides who, from the public, is worthy enough to go there. Parks should be opened to the public, not reserved for specific special events or...

Beware if you take your fur babies to this dog park. Many dog owners are irresponsible and just rude here. I had to leave within 10 minutes of arriving because other dogs were aggressive towards my mine, but the owners wouldn't do anything since they were all too busy looking at their phones. When I told someone to get ahold of their dog (who was trying to bite my dog and myself) owner got aggressive and tries to follow me home. Please stay safe everyone. It’s nice that they have a small and large dog section but their fences are on hills so there are multiple areas where a small dog can go right under near the front gate or get pulled right under from the large dog side.
