I've gone back-and-forth on whether to post this because I liked the Dr and her assistant, but if my experience can help someone else then it needs to be shared. Only giving two stars for the reasons below.
Went here initially for laser hair removal. It hurt too much and honestly not sure why because I have a high pain tolerance (or so I thought.) Unfortunately I'd paid upfront so the team refused to refund the balance paid. I didn't want to lose out on $700+ so had to use the money for something else.
I decided to use it to treat scarring I had on my body. I initially asked if we could do patch "chemical peel" treatments but the Dr suggested we use laser treatments instead. Unfortunately this made the scarring even worse as they darkened and got larger. Someone in the office admitted to me that they'd also noticed that they had got darker. The Dr herself could see that things weren't working so she started to use different treatments, including chemical peels (which I suggested in the beginning) to try to remove the marks at no charge. I knew that she'd messed up based on the comparison images and the fact that she continued to try different methods and would do them for free. After 7 months of ongoing treatments, to no avail, I decided to stop going to Dr Grayman for this and took matters into my own hands.
I still had over $300 left on my account so tried to find something else to use this money on. I can only blame myself for not listening to my intuition, as I decided to get my face microneedled. The first red flag should've been when the assistant told me that she's never done microneedling because she has sensitive skin and it takes long for her skin to heal (as do I) and the second red flag was when I called the office the week before to see what pre-care needed to be done to which the receptionist said none! All of the videos I'd watched online, and the aesthetician blogs I'd read, mentioned cutting down on certain medications and vitamins ahead of time. So the fact that the receptionists didn't have any pre-care information should've been the biggest red flag for me and I shouldn't have gone ahead with this treatment.
Unfortunately I did go forward with it and was given minimal post-care instructions. I stayed home for several days afterwards to avoid being in the sun.
I've never had any issues with my face before and decided to do the microneedling as a desperate attempt to use my credits. Based on what I'd seen online, microneedling can provide a glow and make skin more youthful. Before the microneedling, my skin was clear, my pores were minimal, and I never had any acne. Even as a teenager I was blessed to only get the odd pimple but I've never suffered from acne. Within a week after this treatment, I started breaking out on my cheeks. I also noticed that my pores were enlarged and visible. My pores have never been visibly noticeable, only when you get up close. Now you can see them from a few feet away. I am so upset! It's been 8 months since I got this done and I'm still working on fixing my skin. I have larger pores and hyperpigmentation on my cheeks from where my skin has been breaking out.
I contacted the office twice to let them know about the issues I was facing -- shortly after the session when I first started breaking out, and a few months after when I got a full blown acne flare up. Only thing they've suggested is me scheduling a session with the Dr but I would never go there again!
I told them that I'm moving and they FINALLY gave me a refund for the last $150 I had remaining. Had they given me a refund $600 + ago I wouldn't be fighting the issues I've had since. I'm so disappointed in my experience, and really wanted to love this place because the Dr is black so I assumed she'd specialize in black skin. But all 3 areas I got "treated" here ended up becoming worse for wear. Do your research first and ask all the questions...
Read morePosted 11/07/25 I waited until my last treatment before writing this review, just to be sure the results hold up. Iâd been dealing with a hyperpigmentation area for over 3 years and I tried everythingâ(OTC products, prescriptions) and seen a few dermatologist. Nothing worked.
Frustrated - one day while searching online, I came across Dr. Grayman and PureSkin Dermatology. This time, I specifically wanted to see a dermatologist familiar with my skin type and culture because, after several failed attempts with others, I figured maybe someone who truly understands skin like mine could actually help. At first, I was hesitant (as anyone would be), but I decided to schedule a consultation. After accessing my skin issue, Dr. Grayman immediately knew what kind of treatment would work best. I even said to her âIf youâre absolutely confident about this treatment, Iâll move forward with you,â and she said without hesitation, âYes, I am confident.â At that moment, I felt optimistic that I'm in good hands.
Fast forward through 4 treatmentsâand wow! Iâm super satisfied with the results. My skin in the problem area looked so much better. Dr. Grayman and her team have been nothing but professional, kind, and attentive before, during, and after every session. The ladies at the front desk are absolute sweetheartsâsuper warm and welcoming, but still professional. The nurse assistants are just as greatâvery patient, friendly, professional and detail-oriented.
Honestly, I have nothing negative to say about Dr. Grayman and her team. I 100% recommend PureSkin Dermatology if youâre looking for results and a staff that's professional, attentive and friendly. Hopefully I wonât need more treatments anytime soon, but if I ever do, this will always be my go-to spot. Hands down.
Thank you to everyone at PureSkin! Sorry to readers for the long post, but I assure you this isnât an insider reviewâjust a...
Read moreDr. Grayman and her entire staff exhibit excellence in care and professionalism. Recently my daughter had a medical emergency which required dermatological care. We were fortunate that an opening was available due to a last minute cancellation (folks calling in to cancel unwanted appointments is the decent thing to do, as otherwise, we would have been waiting for almost a month to be seen). Due to her condition, my daughter could not eat and her vision was severely impacted. We were first grateful for Denise that took the time to listen and get our request for help to Dr. Grayman, we were seen an hour later. Dr. Grayman and Pricilla worked on my daughterâs skin through the appointment time and into their lunch hour to get her cleaned up (so selfless!! who does that?) The more they worked on her, the better she felt and looked. The next morning, we received a follow up call from Dr. Grayman herself to check in for an update. Words cannot express how grateful we are for their prompt attention. Immediately after our appointment we had a follow up with the doctor that was previously caring for her. He remarked how great my daughter looked and asked what was done since he last saw her. His team took detailed notes of what we shared from Dr. Graymanâs hands on treatment, to the patient education she provided, and changes she made to my daughterâs maintenance items including lotions, shampoo conditioner, etc. Dr. Grayman knew what to do and all of her recommendations were effective and on point. We were able to see results from her care that other doctors could not deliver. Her knowledge, expertise, attention and professionalism are outstanding and are rare find, weâre blessed to be a part of the Pure Skin...
