The food was alright in taste but the amount for the price is awful, as a visitor from nyc it was quite surprising. The rolls are so small for the price and when we ordered the caterpillar roll, which is suppose to have COOKED EEL with cucumber and avocado, what came out was RAW SALMON instead of cooked eel. Once this was pointed out the waiter DID NOT TRY to correct the mistake by getting the right roll instead he was making excuses of he has no control on how the roll comes out (understandably yes that is the chef’s fault) and was not addressing the issue on hand and wanted to move on from there. NEVER did he asked whether or not if any of us had a allergy and if the roll being salmon instead of eel was going to be a health problem for the person who ordered it, was not apologetic about the mistake nor had any concern. We had to order a new caterpillar roll and specify that the chef makes it with eel like it’s written in the menu. Waited for a long time for the roll to come out, by the time it did come out we had already finished eating everything on the table.

In addition, the WHOLE time our waiter was INCREDIBLY SLOW on providing service or help but as soon as he saw us finish our last bite of dessert he suddenly gain this sudden burst of speed and brought our bill over. He CHARGED us for both caterpillars roll, including the one that they made a mistake on which shows how little they cared.

OVERALL, if you want to waste your money eating alright food with god awful horrendous service then go ahead be my guest but if you have any respect for yourself and want an actual place that cares about your health and food then don’t go here. Potential allergy reactions to food is possible and they don’t give a crap if that can happen, we were appalled on how they disregarded something so important and we are warning to future visitors of here to watch out because they sure won’t be checking.

(We did tip 15% but now that I’m writing this I’m regretting tipping at all, bill ended up being about $270 which felt so high for how little the food was and considering how few we four ladies ordered and ate, they serve the rolls on plates that basically length-wise was almost the table length but those rolls could easily fit in the tiny plate they gave you, they tried so hard to make it look fancy and like a good quantity when in reality it’s mid tier food being disguised as great, felt so scammed)

p.s. I am ranting here instead of actually complaining when it happened since what do you expect from a socially anxious person to do when they just wanted to eat and rest before heading back to their hotel to sleep, I just wanted to be out of there as soon as possible. My group was just tired man.

Edit* Apparently I should have looked at the lowest reviews since apparently this business fricking bribes people with desserts if they give them reviews so basically inflating their Google review with positive reviews when reality it’s a shady place that had pest issues, who knows if they still...

I have been going to Akasaka (previously Amura) for pretty much my entire life. I first tried sushi here, and I remember when I was in pre-K, my mom would take me out of school early to come here and have some sushi once a week. There is no place like Akasaka, and to this day I think it is still one of the best sushi restaurants in all of Orlando.

Considering I’ve gone here 20+ years, I’ve tried most things on the menu - pretty much everything is fantastic! Here are some of my favorite menu items: in terms of appetizers, tuna tataki, okonomiyaki, takoyaki, bao buns, calamari, and coconut shrimp are always amazing. Their ginger salad is top-notch and miso soup is always great if you’re looking for a warm soup-like appetizer! But my absolute favorites are the tuna tataki and okonomiyaki…they’re exceptional!

Regarding sushi, here are some of my favorite rolls: Samba, Rolls Royce, Typhoon Shrimp, Unforgettable, Crystal Bubba, Brainstorm, Mango Tango, Real Lobster, Super Protein, Deep Rising, New York Tower, Godzilla, Salmon Skin, Crazy Mama, and MANY more. This is one of those places where you could get pretty much any sushi roll and know it’ll be super good. There are times where they have special menus, like for instance a few years back when one of the Star Wars movies came out, and they always have excellent creations there. Don’t be afraid to try some more unique sushi rolls here - the more elaborate, the better! The flavor really comes out in these big rolls!!

Their actual entrees are extremely good as well. It is a massive menu so it would be impossible to talk about everything, but they’re diversified the menu to include Korean food, Chinese food, and Japanese food that isn’t just sushi - everything I’ve ever tried from this part of the menu is great! Orange chicken actually has a sauce made from REAL oranges (not that fake stuff you get at a stereotypical Chinese restaurant), any teriyaki or tempura dish is very good, and many more things are great as well. I love all the food here at Akasaka!

In terms of desserts, who can go wrong with fried cheesecake or fried ice cream?! If you have room for this (which I doubt you will), you should try these things. However, based off my experience, I think you should fill up more on your main meal and skip dessert! 😄

I will continue to come back to this restaurant time and time again. It is one of the best restaurants in all of Orlando, and having come here my whole life, I can confidently say you won’t be...

Restaurant Review: A Delightful Japanese Dinner I recently had the pleasure of dining at a charming Japanese restaurant, and I must say, the experience was delightful. For dinner, I enjoyed Beef Bulgogi with rice and Philadelphia rolls, and both dishes exceeded my expectations. Beef Bulgogi with Rice: The Beef Bulgogi was a standout. The beef was tender and marinated to perfection, with a savory and slightly sweet flavor that was simply irresistible. The accompanying rice was fluffy and provided the perfect base to soak up the delicious bulgogi sauce. I was pleasantly surprised to find sautéed carrots mixed in with the bulgogi, adding a delightful crunch and a hint of sweetness that complemented the dish beautifully. Each bite was a harmonious blend of flavors and textures that left me wanting more. Philadelphia Rolls: The Philadelphia rolls were equally impressive. The combination of creamy avocado, fresh cucumber, and rich smoked salmon, all wrapped in perfectly seasoned sushi rice, was a treat for the taste buds. The rolls were expertly crafted, with each piece holding together beautifully and delivering a burst of flavor with every bite. Family Orders: My wife and one of my sons ordered ramen, which they thoroughly enjoyed. The broth was rich and flavorful, and the noodles were cooked to perfection. My other son opted for the orange chicken, which was crispy, tangy, and delicious. Both dishes were well-received and added to the overall enjoyment of our meal. Service: The service was exceptional. Our waitress was friendly and attentive, ensuring that our dining experience was smooth and enjoyable. Her warm demeanor and prompt service added a personal touch that made our visit even more pleasant. Overall, my dinner at this Japanese restaurant was a memorable experience. The quality of the food, the attention to detail in the preparation, and the delightful flavors made for an enjoyable evening. I highly recommend trying the Beef Bulgogi with rice and the Philadelphia rolls if you find yourself at this restaurant. You won’t be...
