Wow! It was a completely different experience! I was able to find help once my research dead ended. She was pleasant, even-tempered, and affable. I

Ace had the product I think he wanted, and her advice and research backed it up, so I was able to get him the best tool for the job.

Store is more pleasant, it seems both the lighting, the purchasing, and the staff are different.

I cannot wait for my next trip, I also found some fine terracotta pots at a great price, and they are a slightly different color and texture than traditional terra cotta. Looking forward to repotting some babies for a friend, this is the perfect pot!

This would be a great place for a hardware store. I went in intent upon figuring out how to keep mice from coming into my house through the gaping hole the previous homeowners left when they replumbed the kitchen sink. The entire flooring has to be replaced, but there are so many things to be replaced at this point I simply wanted to address the mice. Nothing against mice, I just don't want them in my house. So I went in and I finally found a clerk and asked her if she had any wire mesh, like you might use on a window screen. She looked at me blankly like I was not speaking English. So I explained. I'm planning on putting this over steel wool all the way around the pipe. Then I intend to duct tape it all in place until I have an opportunity to replace the floor. She said I don't think we have anything like that, just toss some moth balls down the hole. Having done my research, I knew that moth balls would not work in reality. So I asked her if she had any mouse or rat poison, and she said oh if we have any it's up towards that direction and waves towards another part of the store, then turned and walked away. I was aghast and speechless for about a solid minute. So I thought I would look around some more and maybe could find it myself and I looked and I looked and I looked. I finally found a different employee and said do you know where I can get some fine mesh wire. I said think about chicken wire, except much smaller spaces between the wires. She looked at me like I was crazy. We don't carry anything like that. You might go try Duncan builders supply. And she turned and walked off. If I were not in the middle of a major transition in my life, I probably would have thrown a fit. But since throwing a fit would not make them any smarter or effective, I decided to leave and let you know exactly how I felt about your service and selection. This place generally has very competent workers that will help you find what you need, but lately it seems like they don't even care if you find what you are looking there has also been several times where I went in and they're like "oh I don't know what that is, you have to try somewhere else" rather than asking someone else, like the manager... Or instead, I ask someone about a small lamp wiring kit "we don't sell those" didn't even give it a second thought and I found it about 10 minutes later and half the aisle is full of this stuff and I still couldn't find the one thing that I needed... Ace hardware used to be somewhere you could go and they would tell you "follow me it's right over here"!

I got an auger for my sink, which they said it works on any drain, and of course, it doesn't work on any of them and then I can't take it back for some reason, though I paid $75 for it. I have really come to hate going to Ace more than Wal-Mart. I have orderd another universal one that had an image of a different item and it ended up being the same exact device and I made then take it back, I would not accept the order!

Not sure why it's so hard to go ask a co-worker or your manager if you don't...

I would give this place 0 stars for what just occurred. Today was one of the hottest days of the year and my AC capacitor went out. I live in Lawton (35 mins away) I called ahead because they close at 7 and I was going to arrive at 7:01 to get the part I need to fix my AC. I talked to the manager and explained that my house is 88 degrees and I have a baby that would be miserable through the heat. I asked if he could hold the doors for me so u could get the part because they are the only store that has the one I need in the area. He said I would have to drive fast to make it. I arrive at 6:59 and the store looks like it’s been closed for 20 mins. Lights off in the building, no cars in the parking lot. This is inexcusable. I sure hope the owner of this store reads these reviews because that’s absolutely awful customer service. Shutting down the store knowing a customer is coming to get a part to fix the AC in his house on a day that it is 109 degrees outside....
