Awesome pizza and manager, extremely poor everything else.
Well, I hope that someone from corporate Mazzios reads this.
On August 13th, I placed an order for a couple of pizzas and some cinnamon sticks, to be delivered to the Heritage Inn where I was staying. The girl I spoke with over the phone that took my order sounded, to say the least, bored and uninterested, and that should have been enough to dissuade me from ordering from Mazzios, but I remembered the pizza being delicious the last time I ate it, so I went ahead against my better judgement.
After repeating my credit card number to her three times, and having her repeat it back to me incorrectly twice, (my confidence in this endeavor dropping steadily) the girl told me the order would be 28 bucks and would take about 45 minutes to be delivered, not an unreasonable amount of time, so I thanked her and hung up.
After an hour and a half and no pizza, I called back, and spoke to the same girl, who never apologized or displayed any proffesionalism whatsoever, and immediately placed me on hold (but not actually hold, as there was no hold music or anything. I could hear background noises from the kitchen). When she came back after about 5 minutes, she told me that her deliver driiver had just left.
I asked her why the driver only just now left after I placed the order 90 minutes ago, but she simply said "I don't know".
Fortunately, the pizza arrived only about 15 minutes after that. As anyone who had waited nearly nearly 3 times the length of time they were told it was going to take would, I told the delivery driver that the manager of this Duncan Mazzio's was doing a poor job if this was an example of the kind of service one could expect.
The driver agreed with me and was quite humble and polite (clearly NOT the young lady I'd spoken with on the phone when I placed my order) and agreed with everything I said. I told her that, indeed, the manager, if they were at all worth their salt, would, at the very least, bring me another pizza to make up for the inconvenience.
She again agreed and said she would do just that, and scurried off. I was fully expecting to NOT receive another pizza for my troubles, yet, amazingly, about 45 minutes after THAT, she did indeed return with another pizza.
It was then that she advised me that she, the delivery driver, was, in fact, the manager as well.
I was pretty flabbergasted that the manager of a pizza place would be so poorly staffed, or understaffed, that she herself had to make the deliveries, as well as somehow manage the place.
So my message to you in regards to your Duncan location is this, Mazzios. You have fantastic pizza. It was absolutely delicious. And..you have a wonderful young lady as your manager there (if she hasn't quit out of frustration yet, and she'd be well deserving to do so). But you have GOT to get your service under control. You CANNOT have customers waiting almost 2 hours for 2 pizzas to get cooked and delivered 5 miles.
Get that manager some help, and give her a raise. She...
Read moreHorrible horrible customer service and food experience. When picking up my pizza, the lady at the window was so nice, and told us they'd just give us a side of garlic sauce since the app wouldn't allow us to add it. Later on, while waiting on our pizza the manager came from the back and started yelling at the cashier right in front of us and going off about how we needed to be charged for garlic butter. He then came to the window and demanded we pay for it, after it had already been given to us. I ordered a combo pizza and was also not notified that they were out of toppings. I received my pizza with missing toppings and called them. The person on the phone told me they "didn't know" that they just got in when they answered the phone.. I told them I wish they had let me know they were out of toppings so I could have either ordered differently or cancelled my order. The persons response on the phone was "have a good day" and hung up on me. Not No resolution. I've tried to contact the corporate office for Mazzios several times, left messages and my phone number and got no...
Read moreWe ordered carryout online. I ordered an original crust and got paper towel thin crust. Tasted bland. Ordered Italian Hoagie supposedly with mild pepperoncini's they were very hot, had to pull them off the sub. Also, ordered that Hoagie with fries and pickle spear but, received chips and pickle spear.
Ordered a chocolate chip cookie pizza. I thought it was just going to be a large cookie but, noooooooo it was this nasty looking creation that everyone was scared to even try.
Now I know why I never tried Mazzio's the entire time it's been built. It is nasty and waaaaaaaaay overpriced. I am about 99.9% believing that a $5 pizza pizza would be better than the crap we got from Mazzios. And if your not going to pay attention to what people order online; get rid of online ordering. We won't be back and you shouldn't waste your time...
