The name of the business is a literal translation of their signature dessert dou hua already lets you know how authentic it is!

Seriously obsessed with the house made black sesame milk, such a privilege to be able to have a nutty tasting drink without the risk of anaphylactic shock due to nut allergies.

I almost made the mistake of driving 30 mins out of my way to go to another business serving bubble tea, but the bean flower’s menu changed my mind! I am so excited to try their house made ube since the triangle area doesn’t have this readily available where it’s easy to find!

Incredibly impressed the owner actually remembered my name after only visiting once, which made me feel really special! Their attention to detail with warm interpersonal skills, focus on food safety (people with common allergies can come here without anxiety), and emphasis on local artists makes this place so unique!

Strong API pride from the food and drinks selection to the featured artists! The rest of Durham needs to take notes and step it up. Repeat customer...

If you’re thinking about stopping by, or even if you’re not, you 100% should! It’s such a charming and comfy space and the folks working there were so kind. I got the Viet Chai and my partner got the Vietnamese coffee. Both were amazing and had impressive depth of flavor- the quality of ingredients used is evident. I also ordered one of the desserts, Taho. They offered multiple options for sweetness level for our beverages and the dessert. I love desserts/drinks that aren’t too sweet and this totally hit the mark. They also offered a few non dairy-based options, it seems there’s lots of variety available on their menu! CC (I’m not sure if the spelling is correct) was so helpful when deciding what to order. We were so impressed and will definitely be back. There’s also ample parking and it’s a pretty accessible space. Congratulations on opening such a fantastic little corner of our community. You deserve to be so proud of the space and business you have clearly so lovingly crafted. I hope Durham shows up...

I’ve been coming to the Bean Flower since their grand opening and of all the boba spots I’ve tried, this is my favorite spot! The quality has been consistently excellent since day one. The tapioca is always cooked perfectly, the flavors they have are unique and they post a lot of new drink options each month. The owner/workers are so kind and helpful with suggestions for add-ins and combinations. I love how they support local artists and charities as well! My favorites are their matcha with red bean, Thai milk tea (which has a dairy free condensed milk option!) and jasmine milk tea with boba but I love to try their seasonal drinks as well. I always recommend The Bean Flower to everyone I talk to, I’ll always be a supporting customer! The only con? The store being five minutes away from my house and on my commute...

We felt so welcomed here — it truly felt like home! The staff were incredibly friendly and went above and beyond to make us comfortable. They even made me a Vietnamese coffee with dairy-free condensed milk, something I’ve never had before, and it was amazing. We also loved how they took the time to chat with us and recommend other spots nearby with dishes similar to what we enjoy in Vancouver. Such a thoughtful and authentic experience — we’ll definitely be back!
