Good Dog — Local services in Durham

When I adopted June from a shelter a few months ago, it was very important to me that she would be well trained. I called around and spoke with many different trainers in the area, but was having trouble finding a good fit. After hearing wonderful things about Jeff at Good Dog from a family friend, I decided to give him a try and do the four course training package. Jeff was excellent with June and I could tell by her wagging tail every time we pulled up to his house, that she really enjoyed the training sessions. Equally important, Jeff was very patient and helpful with training me to have a better understanding of my dog. He taught me many useful techniques for training her and both June and I made a lot of progress under his tutelage.

June's training is an ongoing process, but I am already reaping the rewards of Jeff's comprehensive training program. She has wonderful manners and I can take her with me everywhere - to restaurants, playgrounds, dog parks, and the beach. Although I had very little knowledge of proper dog training before going to Jeff, I now feel very confident working with June. I have even had multiple people stop and ask me how I taught my dog to behave so well, which of course brightens my day! I am always sure to tell them that Jeff Napoli played an instrumental part in training me how to train my dog, and I feel confident in saying that buying that training package was some of the best money I've ever spent!

My rowdy and excitable 4 year old rescue mutt has been a challenge for me ever since I adopted her. Having Jeff work with both of us was a crucial turning point in my relationship with my dog. Jeff both came to my home and invited us out to his to work on our behavioral problems. He is a terrific trainer and is wonderful with dogs and humans. He helped me to take control of the issues I was having with my dog and trained me to handle her in ways that most effectively modified her bad behaviors. He always made time to spend as much or as little time with us as needed. I also boarded my dog with Jeff when I would travel, where she was able to play outside with his dogs on his property. Wow, Jeff is amazing!!! We brought our 6 mo old dog to Jeff for obedience training. Our dog would jump on us, pull when on leash, not come when called, and only listen some of the time. Literally within minutes, these behaviors stopped when Jeff took the lead. He really knows how to work with dogs. And most importantly, he taught us how to control our dog and correct these behaviors. In other words, he also knows how to work with owners. He gave us fun activities to help teach our dog "come" in the home and outside. And he introduced us (and our dog) to the flirt pole (which our dog absolutely loves, as do we). We highly...
