My husband and I went to bull city burger for the first time and had a terrible experience. The individuals at the register did not ask for our name, rather they asked if we were a part of a big group (which we were) and then the servers basically argued with us because there were no names associated with the tickets( which I guess is how they traditionally do it). Additionally, my husband has an allergy to dairy, and so we ask about the ingredients of any item if we suspect that there is dairy, if the ingredients aren’t explicitly listed. My husband ordered a burger with bbq sauce, worchisterire and ketchup, and did not ask if dairy was present bc those items don’t typically pose a dairy threat. The servers brought the burger out and my husband didn’t say it was his bc it had what looked like mayo on top and he did not order it.When the burger was given to him( waitress said it was his) it had garlic aioli on it which my husband didn’t order, but the waitress said that it was the bbq sauce and that it did in fact have dairy. When my husband said that he had a dairy allergy she said there’s cheese in the bun( which was not stated on the menu) in addition to the “bbq sauce”- what we presume to be garlic aioli( I tasted it). As we tried to figure out what the best course of action should be as we had just spent 30 dollars on burgers and fries.... the server said I can bring you a fork and knife so you can scrape the “bbq sauce” off and eat the burger..... dumbfounded by how the situation was handled and her strong attitude with us, we just said thank you and she walked away. Very disappointed with our only experience here. The fries were great, but the service was terrible. My “hotdog” wasn’t what I would traditionally call a hotdog and the food in general was over priced but none of that would have mattered if the situation with my husbands dairy allergy had been handled more...
Read moreCute restaurant. I liked the atmosphere, but not so much the food. The dirty fries were good. But the burgers I felt were just "meh". The overeasy egg burger came with bacon and didn't taste very good. To me at least. It was my first time ever trying a burger with a fried egg on it. I love fried eggs and usually enjoy dunking my toast, so figured it's gotta be good on a burger? Maybe the oil used for frying gave the egg a weird flavor, I think that may have been part of it. The bacon was pretty flacid and gave no flavor or crunch to the burger. My husband had a burger that came with pickled cucumbers that were like a good inch and 1/2 thick that just took away from the meat and pimento cheese. He said there was no need for the cukes to be that thick. My 10yo got a puppy dog from the kids menu and asked for mustard on it. The mustard we got was some like horseradish-stoneground mustard blend that I mean c'mon. Most kids don't like that kinda stuff. We scraped it off but it still pretty much ruined her meal. Anyway this was our first time there, and I dunno maybe that info was on the menu? But we stood in a long line where there were no menus available to look at. I pulled up the menu online from my phone but unless I missed it I didn't see anything describing the kind of mustard offered. The cashier should've explained to us the kinda mustard used so my daughter could've at least asked for it on the side. The entire hot dog was drowning in the stuff. Anyway the fries were good though and the people next to us got some desserts that looked really good! I'd try this place again if in the area but I would not...
Read moreMy significant other and I liked this place so much we came once and then two days later.
I liked the atmosphere and the beer is delicious. The sweet tea is amazing.
My main qualm is that the bacon slices you get are are kind of sad and you pay $2. And instead of thick, juicy fried onions I got stringy, black pieces of gloop. They were over fried to the point of inedibility and were not fresh. I think this restaurant likes to pre-cook veggies on the grill and let them sit there rather than cook to order.
The burgers are very fresh but since the burgers are only about quarter of a pound, I think the need to either be bigger or there should be more topping options. I like to load up my burgers, so while we had a good time we left pretty hungry (and each time we went they forgot a topping I asked for).
The quality of food is not consistent to the two separate times we came here and kind over-priced. There's a local joint I love that gives you like 20 toppings for free and charges for more premium toppings and everything is fresh and locally made like BCBB... but that places charges half the price than BCBB. I got charged an extra $1 for gloopy fried onions. My fav burger place charges a base price of $5.99 for 1/3lb local beef pattied in house daily - not $8 for a plain "hamburger". They also charge 1/2 the price for BCBB's veggie burger does.
And when they forget toppings, there's no waiter to correct the order because it's seat yourself. So if my order is wrong, I would have to get back in the (long) line and ask for redo... how can they charge so much for...
