Horrible experience. I came in for a fill. I was told to go to a station, when I went there the tech at that station rudely gestured to go to a different station with a different tech.
Once settled, I showed the technician a picture of the nail shape I wanted (straight on sides, curved in front) as well as verbally communicated this at least twice. The tech ended up giving me an oval shape. When I pointed this out, she was rude and raised her voice saying she did what I showed her. Then I showed her the picture again. Realizing she was wrong, she rudely and loudly started going off with her co-workers in another language (judging by their expressions, she was obviously saying something about me). She ended up correcting the shape and did a good job in the end. I continued being respectful (with no responses from her) and while checking out, thought we could be adults about it. I asked her what her name was and that I would like to later make an appointment with her for my fills. She gestured NO with her hand and said, "just walk in, someone will take care of you".. lol An absolute example of how not to treat another human, let alone provide a good customer service. The staff could use some training
EDITING FOR THE RESPONSE FROM THE OWNER:
That is the only think she had to correct by putting some extra product, that too, only for one nail (which, by the way, I told her she did not have to). I had corrected her before she could shape the second nail. The correction took a minute. How can the whole process take 30 mins?
You decided to blindly believe what the tech is saying, never thinking that she could be lying to save face and her lack of manners?
Or is the business trying to save face by backing the employee regardless?
You are justifying employees to "stress out" and be rude to customers (multiple times)? She was rude to begin with, if you read what I had to say. I am paying for a service, not taking favors, to be treated this way.
One thing I forgot to say in my initial review - As she was starting, I asked her if she was using acrylic. She nodded, and I asked her if she could used gel instead. She put out another acrylic container pretending that it was gel and continued. How do I know it was acrylic - It said it on the white container AND we never cured my nails in UV like it is done for gel nails (which I let slide). Absolute lack of integrity.
This is how the employees are treating customers and they are being backed?
You are justifying her not taking my appointment (she was just upset that I callled her out for the shape)? What about her raising her voice and being rude? What about her bad mouthing the customer with coworkers assuming the customer is not going to understand...
Read moreUpdate: came here again in a pinch and yet again the paint job was not good. I don’t get it. My nail tech was very nice and tried to be meticulous but the paint job was not good. She had to do one nail 3 times and everything still looked sloppy. For a $45 this should not be an issue or concern. I will be repainting them at home. They offered to redo them but I had already been there so long having her redo the one that kept getting messed up. So I paid and left but definitely not worth the money.
Came here because I received a text for 10% discount for my birthday. I was not impressed with the quality of service my first time but decided to give them a second chance with a different nail tech. This review if for pedicure only.
Apt/checkin: the apt and checkin process is so smooth. As soon as you walk in you are greeted and asked what you need (I witnessed this with everyone who walked through the door). I made an apt earlier that morning and was able to be accommodated for an early afternoon apt. When you step in there is a pad where you enter your phone number to check in.
Service: I was not pleased with my nail tech the first time I came. Poor and messy cuticle cleaning and massage and sloppy polish. This time my tech was better. Attention to detail with cleaning. Took care and went over cleaning cuticles multiple time and really worked on my heel dryness with the stone. Still some issues with polish final looks. It's a bit uneven and lumpy as you can see from the picture. She struggled a bit during the process too. if you're doing gel though, they have sooo many color options to choose from! There is a bit of a language barrier but all my needs were met with a bit of repetition. The gentleman that seemed to be the manager was very attentive and friendly. I almost left my kindle behind and he returned it to me before I left the salon. Trustworthy and friendly! Only downside it that it seems you have to get lucky with who your nail technician is so if you find a good one try and go to that same person every time.
Price: the salon was nice enough to send a 10% off coupon for my birthday via text. I probably would not have given this place a second chance had I not received that text. I paid about $45 for the mostly basic pedicure with non gel polish. This seems expensive for me but it seems to be normal pricing in North Carolina. Overall at least this time I felt it was worth the price tag.
Ambiance: love love the massage chairs! Very comfortable and great after a workout! Everything was very clean and sterile. New packages were opened for tools used on my feet. Soak tubs were plastic covered and tech wore masks and gloves. The decor is very appealing and gives an upscale feel....
Read moreThis place is a gem! I am a super fussy person, regarding my nails & toes, due to the fact that I worked for many years in the nail industry. I used to own 3 hair & nail spas in Europe & I also trained at the cosmetology college in England. So to say that I know my stuff, is an understatement. I do not like to feel bullied into the “latest fad” or a “this is what you need” now don’t get me wrong, I do like to know I am in confident hands & be given suggestions, but knowing that my preferences were being taken into consideration, is top level elite service in my opinion (I did not share that I had been in the nail industry for quite some time, as I didn’t want anyone to think they “had” to give me special treatment” I wanted to be treated like everyone else & that way I could work out for myself, if this was a good salon. I had just moved to Durham from out of town. I had previously had the same nail technician for 14 years, and felt sad that I had to leave her behind & try and find my new person. I found it so super hard for the longest time, to find someone good. I tried all the places, that got suggested to me & they were “okay” but I knew I hadn’t found “my nail person” yet! Eventually after so many disastrous appointments, coming away with nails that I would go home & remove & go without nails, until I couldn’t bear it anymore, then I would attempt a new place. I knew that there had to be someone good if I looked hard enough. That’s when I found Anna, who is the owner of Pure Nails! I absolutely love this salon Anna, is incredible, super talented, and without having to try, “she just gets it” she is a very kind & gentle lady, and she doesn’t mess about, she is fast. You don’t usually find fast and good, in a nail technician. The whole place is super clean & they never rush their clients, they offer a multitude of different options for manicures, pedicures & nail extensions, along with all the bells & whistles. Not only do they have exceptional services, they have a massive array of colors & nail art to choose from. Each of the staff have incredible customer service & I have had several of them do pedicures for me. You cannot go wrong with experiencing getting a service in this gorgeous salon. Their attention to detail & the aesthetically pleasing salon decor, makes for such a relaxing environment. I am so happy that I found this relaxing salon, with incredible staff, great prices & a low odor & clean equipment. Go get yourself an appointment. You...
