La Recette Patisserie — Restaurant in Durham

Tried 4 desserts today- first time going here.

Very good French desserts. People always say oh this place has good stuff, that places is yummy.

I’m rating this place by the technical skills put into each patisserie, the flavor profile, texture of the cakes, the quality of ingredients.

Each item is crafted as it should be. Many places take the same “frosting base” and “cake batter base” and add different flavors and use it across all desserts. Not here. The vanilla cake was so airy, the chocolate one was denser. The cream on the tart is definitely not the same cream on the cake, etc. I’m absolutely not disappointed in getting 4 desserts. They truly taste like 4 totally different things.

Then the details matter too. The almond slices were toasted perfectly. The little slice of peach on the cake was perfectly ripe.

I don’t have to tell you about how good they LOOK.

Reasonable prices too. Please don’t change your ingredients- take a chance to increase quality of ingredients if prices go down on your supplies. Please don’t ever compromise. Increase prices if you have to. There’s no other place making this quality.

My only wish is they would be open 12-8 or something because I often crave sweets later in the afternoon and I’m reading the run out of options early and they close in...

You can find the best CROISSANT in NC maybe in USA. It is a super clean and brand-new patisserie on the simple promise to offer traditional French- Algerian products of exceptional quality and freshness in a quick-service setting. LABNEH and ZAATAR DANISH, all kinds of croissants with chocolate, mozeralla, plain are above the standards. Generally, I don’t like semolina desserts but after I tasted MAKROUT which changed my perception. Plus, ALMOND BAKLAVA is totally different than other bakeries which have buttery fluffy layers with unpleasant sweet syrup. This one is not only crunchy but also has a great moisture, almond fillings and syrup. Everything about almond baklava is prepared with a good balance. There are a lot of delicious desserts, and savory options to choose from you cannot go wrong with any choice. Owners and stuff are so helpful friendly and incredible. We love its location because we had a great time with my kids under the trees across the parking lot. My kids enjoyed their mini chocolate CUPCAKES and CAKE POPS. I would recommend any one to get their cake from La Recette Patisserie for whatever occasion ‼️‼️. I had the opportunity to have two of their 🎂 as well as 3 lemon meringues (dessert tier) for my for my 28th Birthday Brunch- one cake was for cousin ) Everyone loved the cakes and it was a hit ‼️ ( One cake was French vanilla with fruit filling with macaroons and fresh flowers on top and the other red velvet w/ butter cream decorated in rosette w/ chocolate covered strawberries) The designs of the cake were perfect and the taste was even better not too sweet and heavy ; The balance was just right (very delicious !) and the lemon meringue were soo good and made fresh. Not to mention the macaroons and the chocolate covered strawberries on the the cakes are too die for .Everything was just tasty, homemade and didn’t taste store bought .
