Those dudes that try to sell you phones by the electronics are the absolute worst. They will yell at you if you've got earbuds in and don't take "no" for an answer. Absolute vultures of humanity.
Good luck trying to find any toys here since the electronics guy runs a scam so only those on his list actually get access to new toys.
I found this out when I was trying to buy a toy online that said "available in the store and ready for pickup". Instead of going through the process of placing the order online, I went to the store since it was only a 10 minute drive away. The product I was looking for said it was in the toy section and in stock yet when I arrived it wasn't there and there was no indication it was ever on the shelf. It was logged into the system since it made it to their website, but never put out on the store floor. I asked someone in the toy section and if they had this specific Avengers set and they said "Have you been approved by Chris?". Um, excuse me? Whose' "Chris" and why do I need approval by him to by an action figure set at a retail store. This is truly one of the craziest things I've ever run into at a retail store, and I would quickly learn this Chris fellow was a true annoyance.
I had so many questions outside of being immediately frustrated that this was now going to be a thing. Apparently the head of the electronics department (Chris )Big surly looking guy you can't miss him, pulls aside stock from the toy section and keeps it behind the electronics desk and only those who he approves can get access to buy those toys. Maybe he's holding it for friends, scalpers or making a side hustle off of this. Who knows.
I immediately spoke to a manager about this since I could see the product I wanted to buy sitting right behind the electronics desk, but I had to go through Chris if I wanted to buy something that the website was indicating was clearly for sale and in quantity too. The manager said the electronics person has no pull what-so-ever over the toy section and that this wasn't allowed. This is also what Target's corporate complaint liaison told me as well after I called their corporate number. I walked away with the item I was trying to purchase after lots of hassle and discovering this scam going on.
This Target used to be a place I loved popping in to find the newest and latest toys since their selection was always more up to date than the South Square Target's stock. Now I come to find that in recent months it's been lackluster is due to their electronics dude Chris running his own personal hustle and cherry picking whatever he wants. Until this store gets this problem fixed it's truly someplace I can't recommend for anyone looking to purchase toys at. Outside of this annoyance this Target is fading from how great it used to be. The store layout is baffling and the grocery section side is too cramped. Where they do excel is their beauty products section is truly well designed oddly enough. Anyhow, if you're looking for that specific toy or action figure I hope you're on Chris' list or else you're...
Read moreThis is the most unprofessional and rude target I have ever been to. I waited forever for a dressing room and was sent across the aisle to try those dressing rooms. I asked for help after 4 different staff members walked by and neglected to stop to help me. Finally I flagged a man down and the man was unable to answer why only two of the 8 rooms were open to be used.
I asked for him to ask someone to get them opened because the line continued to grow and I was waiting longer than 15 min. He came back and said he was unable to help because it wasn’t his department. Again, I flagged down another employee who was rude and less than helpful. She said she would get her manager but never came back
I went to her to ask what the deal was because I’d been waiting about 20 min at this point and it was getting ridiculous. They had sent me across the way and now the other dressing rooms I was originally at were opening up and I was missing them. The lady was rude and said “well the other two people already told you that you just have to wait so I wasn’t going to come find you because we already told you”. Meanwhile, 6 dressing rooms sat empty and unlocked.
I told her this was unprofessional and that they saw I’d been waiting for so long they should at least tell me what was going on and have me come to the other dressing rooms instead of sending me away and then making me wait and be rude and unhelpful. The lady told me to calm down and was dismissive.
Overall, the employees and management of the clothing section were incredibly rude and dismissive and clearly had no respect for me or my time. I truly hope someone higher up sees this because it is an awful experience and as someone who frequents target often, it is enough to make me not want to come back.
I had 6 sets of bathing suits I was planning to buy but instead, I left with nothing because I would never give money to people who treat me that way. Just terrible. I came here for a stress release after a long week and now I’m leaving...
Read moreThings were getting so much better… Then they put a “10 items or less” sign in the self-checkout. Are there more cashiers in the standard lines to make up for it? Nope. I waited in line for 20 minutes yesterday with a cashier that worked at a glacial speed with my 15 items while watching the empty self-checkout area. I am so very frustrated.
Old Review: Ok, I’m updating my review in the hopes that corporate sees this and helps this store out. 1) This store is clearly short staffed. I’m now at the 13 year mark of regularly shopping at this location, and it’s very clear is something going on with management/labor. Lines are very long (thankfully self check moves quickly), shelves are empty, and everything is just generally a mess. 2) I’m not sure if they’re short buyers or the ones that work there need to be retrained, but merchandise I’ve been trying to get for months at this location is always out of stock, and stocked to the ceiling in other locations. I know products come from many distribution centers (I’ve worked in the grocery industry for 17 years now), but I feel like some more strategic planning could be done? 3) Another sore spot is order pick up/drive up. There are major delays and no communication. I’ve stopped placing them for now in case they are severely short staffed, but the last time I did, after 8 hours, multiple attempts to call the store and no one answering, I went to the store and grabbed the items I needed and then canceled my order. There was zero communication via the app or email that there would be a delay. Corporate, I hope you see this, and it’s not so the people working there already get punished. It’s for you to get off your butts and HIRE workers.
Former Review: I’ve been a happy customer of this Target location for 12 years. Easily accessible with a great parking lot, the store is always clean and organized, and the team members are helpful. I really like that music is played...
