I've lived in the area for about 6 years, and frequented Ace Hardware many times. I appreciate having somewhere close to buy hardware related items.
However, I've been frustrated with the following:
Lack of selection on items. 60% of the time I end up having to drive into Home Depot to buy what I need. I can't complain too much though, because this is a smaller store will limited shelf space for inventory.
Prices are generally higher than the big-box stores. I get it, you pay for convenience.
Staffing is a problem, both in quantity and quality. I get it, these are tough times and it is difficult to hire the talent that you need to run the store.
The last straw for me was deceptive pricing. The last 3 visits, I paid closer attention to the price on the sticker versus the price I pay (check your receipts!!!). I highly recommend taking a picture of the price on the shelf for use when you check out. From my experience, about 80% of items are higher-priced in the computer during checkout than what the sticker shows. For a few cents I won't say anything. This most recent visit, I was charged double ($5.00 for a $2.50 item) and 10x ($3.59 for a $0.40 item). I didn't realize it until I got home and checked the receipt. This was unacceptable, so I had to drive back in and show them the problem. They tried to work with me and reimburse me. I should have paid closer attention during check out, but the bottom line is that their pricing on the shelves should match the pricing in the computer. I'm sure that their prices have gone up and they don't have the staff to update the stickers, but this most recent experience was too much.
Going forward, I will have to be more careful watching for this problem, and I recommend that you...

Home Depot, Tractor co Supply and even Walmart have all what ya need and more at a significant price difference. The aisle's are pretty narrow I do get the feel like I am being up-sale to zero interest in assisting customers from staff a good amount of the time I visit here. (I visit this place often). Hard to find screws of any kind here, very tough to read the faded labeling they have on the drawers containing screws.
Overall, it is a good place if you know what you need and need right now. Otherwise this place is overpriced with...
Read moreThis location has been pretty good overall. I haven’t noticed items being more expensive but based on other reviews I better pay more attention.
I was unable to return items from a different Ace to this one because this one is owned by Ridley’s the grocery store, so for that reason alone I’ll probably be avoiding this location. I assume it also works in reverse - items purchased here can’t be returned at other Ace locations. Can’t confirm that though.
Might work in a pinch but I’d rather visit the other Ace in Eagle Mtn or the Home Depot for future projects. I wouldn’t really call it Ace - I would call it the hardware...
