Pera Pizzeria — Local services in East Grand Rapids

Day 2 at Pera Pizzeria. We are in process of moving to Grand Rapids area with my husband’s job and this is the first trip we brought our 8 y/o son. Grand Rapids Downtown felt too NOT kid friendly late afternoon and he was insistent on pizza. We found this fabulous spot in East Grand Rapids last night at 8:53, they were closing at 9:00. They do not have a dine in option so we expected them to say it was too late to order, but the young girl at the counter looked back at the two in the back, who could possibly be her parents, which were making pizzas from what appeared to be all fresh made ingredients and they nodded. We were able to order. We were more than impressed! ..with the one piece we each got!! Our little one laid claim and ate the entire pizza!! We had to go back today and order our own. Just as impressed. AND even as busy as they are they remembered us. We will definitely be back. I will also sing their praises!! I have not had pizza this amazing since.....

edit- ordered again and it was just perfect! this is my sisters favorite pizza and she just got surgery, hence why we keep ordering it 😂 This was my favorite pizza place in grand rapids. Wonderful pizza, with great sauce and pepperoni. I ordered two slices today for pickup for my sister and didn’t look at them until she opened the box when we had already driven away. This is not the pepperoni pizza i normally get from here. It was obviously an unused cheese pizza that someone threw pepperoni and a sprinkle of cheese and threw back in the oven. The crust was burnt, the sauce was nowhere to be found, and it just looked so odd. The first picture is what I got and the second is what it normally looks like. Wow just incredible food and people. I was honestly walking to another business when I saw a customer sitting outside eating and the pizza looked and smelled so good I changed course and had to get some pizza. Very nice clean space and the staff were very warm and kind. I can’t recommend this place enough and honestly I’m breaking up with take out pizza from anywhere except Pera. These people have heart and you can taste it in the food. I wish many blessings and gifts of abundance for the staff/owners at Pera Pizza because they are serving our souls and stomachs with something beautiful. The sauce! The crust! The brick oven char and hands on craftsmanship. We had the margarita and Kurdish pizzas. It. Does. Not. Get. Better....
