I’ve been to Lou three times and each time has been very underwhelming. Especially for how expensive she is. However, the last time was extremely disappointing as she completely ruined my hair. My haircut was choppy, uneven, and the layers are jagged and lot shorter than what I asked for. The back is SO SHORT and then it gets longer in the front- also not what I asked for. She cut my hair like she was wearing a blindfold and when I went home and noticed it the next day, I let her know and without even asking to see it, she tried to blame it on the humidity and then on me. She took absolutely no responsibility or accountability for ruining my hair. For the color, it is a mix of brassy warm tones and cool tones unevenly placed throughout my hair. When I let her know she again, tried to blame her work on me and completely avoided any responsibility.

When I left the salon, I thought it looked pretty good as she styles it so you can’t see her mistakes and uses filters and ring lights when taking pictures. Therefore, the photographs are a lot better than it looks in real life.

Mistakes happen but the problem is the customer service and lack of accountability for destroying my hair. Her customer service is very concerning. I texted her two months later to simply let her know that I was still very upset and how much my self-esteem has suffered because of the damage she did to my hair. This will take YEARS to fix. I was hoping to have a civil and honest conversation and to agree on a resolution. Again, no accountability and she actually tried to make me feel bad about it. In fact she doubled down on the “standards” she thinks she met. I thought best to share pictures of her standards here as a warning to other customers. If these are her standards this is BEYOND concerning. This is the worst experience I’ve ever had at a salon.

Lu ruined my hair. When you go to a professional you expect quality of service and professionalism. Both of those completely disregarded by Lu. If you decide to visit her at her salon, please be prepared that when she ruins your hair she will be unwilling to provide fair and professional costumer service.

Update A response.. No ultimatum was ever given in any conversation. My review was posted not because you ruined my hair and not because you didn’t give me a refund. It was posted because the very disappointing way you handled the situation. Both myself and stylists who’ve seen my hair and how you handled this are appalled. You did not step up to fix the problem you caused. It wasn’t even two months later… Again, completely RUINED my hair and did absolutely nothing to fix the situation or make it right except attempt to deflect blame onto me. It's concerning even with these pictures you still stick by these "standards" of yours. It is actually really sad that it had to end this way. I absolutely love coming to La Vida salon and spa! It is hands down one of my favorite places to go to whenever I need a day of self-care. Jordan has been helping me with my hair since last year and I get excited every time I go, because I know I'll leave with an extra boost of confidence, as well as loving how my hair looks and feels. I've seen Luana 3 times in the last two years and each time I leaved amazed. I'm cheap and formerly a great clips client. It was ok but most of the time I left unhappy and scrounging around for another place to fix the shotty job. I found Luana through IG and a friend of the family. I was in love with her work. I love how she documents her work on social media. You can see the quality of her work before you step through the door. It was very important to me to know what I was getting.

A good employer invests in their employees and I see that with Luana. She mentors and does continuous education with her employees. While I see Luana and I am loyal to her I would feel comfortable going to any of her employees knowing that she has taught them and sets a standard.

The salon is beautiful. I personally love the light, airy and fresh feeling I get walking into it. With 4 kids I never take time for myself. Going to the salon is big thing for me. The smallest touches like having snacks, drinks and live plants add that extra touch.

Today I got partial baby lights and a cut. I might have shed a few tears when I looked in the mirror. I wasn't expecting some blonde highlights to make such a drastic change in my confidence. I felt like I just had a total makeover. If you're hesitant I say take the leap. You can have an inspiration photo or ask what the stylists suggest. They usually know what colors and cuts go with your face or skin tone. I have a red undertone and it's taken until Luana to find out that a slightly violet blonde calms my face. Every time in the past people would use gold on me and it made my face appear more red.
