Accidentally purchased the incorrect item from the website. Upon return to the store within 24 hours... I was told that i had to get in touch with the customer service number to initiate return shipping.... However, it was shipped from this exact location with free home delivery! I was also told that I cannot return this item because it was an electronic (original package, unopened, unused). This car battery should have been refunded and given a proper replacement for the defective battery that i also brought with me.
I spent over 35 minutes dealing with the "manager" (person who was not at the store) and his assistant on duty. When i finally called customer service while waiting at the counter, the rep on the phone called the store and spoke to the gentleman in front of me.... Then switch lines back to me and said she spoke with the manager. There were so many wrong doings regarding policy, unable to return an item that was NOT listed in the "non-returnable" category.
On a separate note, for the defective battery replacement I was charged 21$. It is supposed to be a free replacement for the duration of the warranty if the battery fails the testing (this was another 30+ min wasted... It was visually defective).
Please save your time and money. Buy your parts from somewhere else.
Asked for the corporate address to write a formal letter regarding these issues and was told that letter would go right back to the representative on the phone. Im sure the major stakeholders and interested parties who have more than just a minor investment in this location and business would NOT appreciate experiencing this for themselves. This is not logical customer service. Again, I wasn't looking to pull the wool over their eyes, but be refunded for a product that was listed as returnable.
Either update your "fly by the seat of your pants" return policy, or make up your minds and let everyone know that you choose to do what you desire in the store and overrule corporate customer service. Best or luck, you wont get...

I came in yesterday to buy a radiator for my car. My only transportation broke down. Had to find a ride to the store. Picked up a radiator. Spent 2 hours sweating installing it just to find out that it leaked as soon as I filled it! Now imagine not having transportation to get back to the store to return the junk part they sold me! THEN I find out that they gave me a radiator that was 118 when all other stores I called was 150. So now not only is my time and energy wasted and money spent on coolant as well but now I have to take the radiator back out and bring it back just to pay MORE for another. And this isn't the first time I've had an issue with this location in east haven either. They don't care. They don't know anything about vehicles. They have no sympathy. And everything autozone sells is total...
