Grocery Outlet — Local services in East Hempfield Township

Do not go to this store just go to Lincoln highway instead. This store reminded me of an over priced dollar general. The store is very unorganized and crowed. The price of the food is higher here and there isn't much to chose from in the way of fresh veggies or frozen food. Customer service was terrible. I asked to use my military discount card that they provided me with. Just incase you are not familiar, if you are a veteran you have to meet with the store owner show your ID and then they give you a card that allows you to get 3.00 of 35.00 so if you have the card that means you have already met the owner. Checkout asked to see my veteran ID, once I showed it they told me that I would need to speak to the owner who wasn't there. I reminded them that I had to do it to get this card in the first place and it had a bar scan on it. They gave me so much drama about this but eventually they did scan my card. What's up food options were very good at the Rohrerstown Road PA location it is just too bad that a very careless worker caused me much frustration. Upon entering the store I asked a worker if the store accepted American Express and was told yes. When I attempted to check out however I was informed that they do not accept American Express. The manager was called over to the register where I was at she appeared to have no interest whatsoever in my discomfort she had rather a flat affect and monotone voice when I came back to purchase my items with a different charge card I learned that the owner of the company was the person who was checking me out well suffice it to say her response was as flat and monotone and disinterested as managers this was very disturbing to me. Good price bad produce. I got $104 worth of groceries for $55 but most of it ended up in the trash. I do not recommend buying “fresh” produce from here. Majority of the fruits I bought went in the trash within three days bc it went bad fast or was already bad and I hadn’t noticed. I picked up a bag of potatoes and the cashier had me grab another one bc it was mushy and leaky. When I got home and went to grab the package of kiwis most of them were molded on the bottom but you would never know until you ripped off the cardboard packaging. I picked the best two boxes of strawberrries they had but even still they were mushy and moldy. I bought a whole pineapple, a bunch of peaches and unripe bananas and even those went bad after having them less than three days.
