Judith and I (her husband) agree on all the aspects of her stay at Lancaster Rehab Hospital.
Everyone was very nice and helpful and patient. Doctors, PAs and NPs, nurses, therapists, aids, dietary. food services, and others.
Our questions and concerns were answered in a timely manner.
The physical and occupational therapists were helpful and targeted therapy to those things needed for Judith to get home. For instance, the PT went out to our car and worked out a way for her to transfer to/from our car. They encouraged her with a "good job" or similar.
Case management arranged services necessary for return to home such as home health. I don't know if physical therapy or case management arranged the hospital bed, wheel chair, and transfer board BUT it is very appreciated.
Speech therapy was a great bonus!
Judith didn't eat well though she said the food was good. Staff encouraged her to eat and provided shakes to supplement the little she ate.
Judith says the room is neat, clean, and comfortable.
I liked it that she wore her own clothing instead of hospital clothing.
I like it that all her test results are on MyLGHealth.
The nurses and aids responded to her needs in a timely manner. If they couldn't respond right away they stopped in her room and gave a time when they would return.
I like it that I was included in her activities so I could learn, too.
We will recommend Lancaster Rehab though we hope we never have to come back.
Two minor "wants but didn't get".
Therapy on weekends but the philosophy of rest days was explained to me. I guess I didn't really think about therapy requiring rest days like heavier exercise does.
A shower. Judith has been unable to get a shower since she came into the hospital on 8/13 and here on 8/29.
THANKS FOR EVERYTHING!!!

Read moreI was transferred to LRH after a terrible auto accident followed by 6 days in Intensive Care and 5 days in a Progressive Care unit at a Harrisburg Hospital. Needless to say I was in poor condition for a 6' 270 lbs. male. I could not walk let alone stand and was in excruciating pain from a C-7 vertebrae fracture. From the time i arrived, I received nothing but a positive and caring attitude from the staff. With great care, I was nurtured back to health through daily Physical Therapy and Occupationional Therapy. At times the daily therapy seemed extreme, but the therapists knew my abilities and worked with me. I also enjoyed the diversity of the patients who were receving care in the Therapy room. By being together with other patients, you knew you were not alone and that I was not the only person going through considerable physical dysfunction. We were all treated with great respect and care. I sincerely appreciate the excellent care I received at LHR and would highly recommend going there if the need arises. A special "Thank You" to the night nurses and aides who would help me all hours of the night to be comfortable on my back, fighting the incessant pain. Although I found everyone especially kind, a special "Thanks" to nurses Illes, Kathy, Sam, Nemah, the kitchen staff and therapists Karie, Alyssa, Kendra, Mark, Sue and others who are not named here. My time there was one of the most effective and helpful periods in my life. Thank you for an...
Read moreI was happy to be admitted here after back surgery as I was very weak. The staff here are very friendly, listen and are attentive to your needs. My PT, Mollie was especially helpful in my recovery journey. She made me work hard and I was determined not to give up, so we worked well together. She deserves the gold star too. My OT, Emma was especially helpful in strengthening my upper core and aiding me in daily living routines. Mollie and Emma both made me confident enough to feel good about going home. If I had to add some pointers to my stay, I would say that assistance with bathing the first couple of days was space. I understand that different agency aides are used and I understand that need. Perhaps there could be some more training for them to be better hands on for the patient and more consistent. I had excellent care from Alison, Jamie, Daisy and Gabby.
The nursing was attentive and on time for the most part with my meds. Rachel and Crystal were great and always reviewed each med and asked if I needed additional pain meds by checking my level of pain. They were verp personable giving the fact that they were constantly busy.
I Would have liked to be offered heat packs for discomfort before the last two days I was here, I was offered heat or ice aat therapy.
Overall, I am glad I was able to be here and would rate this facility a 8 out of 10. Thank...
